I look at the date in the bottom right hand corner of my computer. Tomorrow, is the Stark Internship. You know how you just know things are gonna happen and you're like okay. But then just it hits you? That's what's happening right now.

At least I'll have Jack. I'm more nervous than I would like to admit. I try to act all confident and strong all the time, it's a lie.

I try to imagine what it will be like. I wonder what floor will I be on. When will I meet the Avengers?

Then, why did Tony choose me? Why. Because I wrote all that mushy garbage about being inspired. I was; but in applications you have to act all inspired at lift the person up.

A ding comes from my phone, I check it. And it's Kai. Good Loard, what does he need now?

K: Heyyy, princess. Saw u with that other guy? What was that about?

Good grief, it's 3 pm. He's hammered. I roll my eyes.

A: What do you need, Kai?

K: Youuuuuuuuu

A: You broke up with me, remember?

K: No, not really.

A: Where are you Kai?

I'll pick him up, but I'm bringing Jack.

K: I think McDonalds. It smells good.

A: I'll be there in thirty, keep your pants on.

K: Okey doke.

I dial Jacks number. It's a Saturday, I hope he isn't too busy. Even though it is the summer, the college gives engineer students the opportunity to stay on campus. Which is great, since I have no where else to go.

"Hello-o, Alex." He says cheery.

I smile and giggle a bit, "What's got you so happy?"

"The internship tomorrow, of course." He says. I can picture him smiling.

"Well, uh carrot top. Remember when I told you that my alcoholic ex-boyfriend likes to hit me up sometimes? And by that I mean pretty much all the time."

Jacks teeth grit a little bit, "What do I need to do, Alex?"

Thank God, he sounds willing to come with me. "Uhm, he's at McDonald's. Drunk, and he sounded kind of pissed. He talked about seeing me with you. But he's a lightweight when he's drunk. Whenever we were together, he would think I was him mom. And I could scold him to shut up and go to sleep."

He laughs a little forced, "I'm on my way. Meet you outside your building?"

"Yeah, see you then." I hang up.

I'm in leggings and my dad's old sweatshirt. I literally don't care what I'm wearing.

After 10 minutes Jack texts me, I'm here. That was fast.

I grab my bag, and head out the door. I walks down the stairs, outside. He smiles when I see him. How can this boy always be adorable.

"Are you ready to get your weird little ex?" He says. I bet he's not too happy about him contact me. That kind of makes me feel good inside, someone that's protective of me. I haven't had that feeling since dad, and that night.

We hop into his car, and drive.

A short, dark headed boy sits beside the door with a bottle in hand. He waves us over. Jack gets out of the vehicle quickly and opens my door.

I walks beside him, but he kind of pushes me behind protectively.

"What's up little orphan Annie. So you're fucking a Carrot top now, Lex?" He asks rudely.

Jack and I both blush.

But I stand up for the both of us, men can't get me out of everything, "Ha, Kai. Wouldn't you like to know. In the back pocket is my brass knuckles that Dan got me. Even though their illigal. I pull them out, Jack's eyes go wide he laughs nervously under his breath.

I lean up close to his ear. "Stop acting like I fucking cheated on you. And like I'm some little girl who's afraid of you. Now, Kai get the fuck up before I make you."

He looks scared, Jack does as well.

I start walking back to the car, and Jack grabs Kai and picks him up. I hop in the passenger seat. Jack throws Kai in the back.

"Hey, Jack. I'm feeling hungry." I say.

He looks back at me confusedly. I rarely say this, and it worries him.

"Ok.ok.ok.ok. What do you want?" He looks at me excitedly.

Kai tries to pipe up and say something, I yell at him.

I tell my red head, "A chocolate shake and some fries."

He smiles, "Coming right up, princess."

We pull through the drive through, like normal Jack orders 20 different things from the menu. And we get our food and happily go home. Aside from my little drunk stalker in the back of his car.

10 hours later.

Alexandra stares at the ceiling feeling sticky from sweat. The only time she actually slept well, was when she fell asleep at her and Jack's date. If she would tell Jack, he would help her. But she doesn't trust him enough to let him know anything.

She wonders why he hasn't asked her out yet. Did she need to tell him more? Did he think she was pretty enough? Was dealing with Kai too much. She sighs and rolls over for the s
