Alex lays awake tossing and turning. This hotel bed didn't feel good. She lets music take control of her thoughts, and turns on her playlist, Black Madonna by Cage the Elephants comes on. It reminds her of Jack. She reaches over to her nightstand and groans. Four PM. She was going to be at Stark Tower in four hours. A small rush of adrenaline hits her from head to toe. This internship was something that she always wanted, but just seemed so unimaginable. Let a lone her almost boyfriend was going as well.

No use for her to try to sleep, she hasn't in a while. The insomniac stands up, and goes to her closet. She needs something casual, not slobby. Her closet is the definition of slobby. But Alex manages to pull something out.

She lays out black business pants, a black camisole. And a long, grey plaid coat. Then she picks out her favorite black heels, that do not kill her feet. Then, Alex lays on the floor; staring at the ceiling.

It may seem like, she was in a good spot.

She's not happy, that's for sure. Ever since that night, and when her dad died, even before that. Something was missing, and she still can't identify what it was. But Jack was helping her patch everything up, even if he didn't know it.

Alex wakes up, everything sore from laying on the floor. She checks her phone, 7 o clock. Alex had slept! She smiles to herself.

She stands up, trying to stretch out her aching muscles. And goes to her bathroom, and brushes her teeth, flosses, and uses her mouthwash. She never actually did all those steps, (who does?) but felt like it was good luck. Then she brushes out her beautiful, long brown hair. She got it from her mother, that's about the only thing she wanted. Since her mom was literal shit. Alex decides to do make up today. She applies basic foundation and contour, and goes with a blush pink eye, and a tad bit of mascara and eyeliner.

Then goes to her bed and sits down, staring at the wall parallel from her. This was really happening. She gets up and stretches, trying to release more of her nervous tension.

Jack texts her, he almost always oversleeps.

J: Hey. R u exciteddddd?!?!?!?!

A: A little nervous, u?

J: R u kidding? U deserve this more than many or any of the other interns coming. I wish we could ride together in the limo.

A: Yeah.

J: You know it kind of feels like one of those barbie princess academy movies where she gets picked up in a limo.

A: Ur too much, Annie.

She smiles at her phone, thinking, he is too much.

She looks at her phone again 8 o'clock. Time was going by fast. Alex, pulls on her pants, and tank top. Then, her coat. Alex looked in her mirror, she looked beautiful, but didn't feel it.

Not that she knows it, but men drool over her.

She walks out of her hotel, and waits sitting on the step. Then a long limousine pulls up, a kind looking man opens the door. Alex smiles politely while getting in, her heart and mind racing faster than the speed of light.

After driving ten minutes, the angry car noises resonate through the city. Alex is an introvert, but prefers noise over quietness. They pull up to Stark Tower, many reporters are contained on the opposite side of a guard rail. In the front entrance of the building stands the famous Stark family. In front of her are five vehicles and one behind her. Every one stops, and the driver tells her nicely, "You can get out miss, have a lovely time."

It really did feel like princess academy.

She steps out of the vehicle, savage reporters scream at her. Alex's hand starts shaking, and she covers it up the best she can.

To her right, 5 other people get out. Behind her a small white headed girl about her height gets out waiving at her. She smiles kindly.

"Hello, interns!" Tony Stark yells with no microphone. He looks a little bit pissed.

"Follow me," he says, giving the reporters the middle finger.

Yep, she's in the right place. She follows in the line of people. And they walk in, every thing is so clean and smells nice. In a meeting room, there are Captain America, Black Widow, and Bruce Banner. They were always on tv, they were real but not at the same time.

They go into an elevator, still saying nothing. She spots Jack in the front beside Mr. Stark. Something hints he's a teacher's pet, which nothing is wrong with it. It certainly helps support grades.

The white headed girl with blue eyes smiles at her again. The group travels to the 15th floor out of 30.

Tony steps out, "Well everyone."

"Tell me your names," He says.

A model-height girl with beautiful Asian filters steps up.

"Hey, I'm Scarlett."

Tony says, "What about you in the back?"

He points at her, Alex's face turns red.

"Alexandra."

"Great," he says clapping his hands together, "Let me take you to your rooms."

We hop back in the elevator and go up two floors.

"Okay, this is the intern floor. You've got your kitchen, living room, all that shit. Food is restocked every Wednesday, just tell me what you want. Your rooms are to the right. Names taped on your door. Tell Pepper if you want some decorations or something. And please, please if yall do any shit like having sex, then don't let me hear it. Bye."

He goes into the elevator and waves as it closes.

So that was it?

She sighs, Jack talks to Scarlett.

The takes note of the interns,

3 boys,

3 girls including her.

Everyone starts talking to each other, she decides to find her room. Still Jack hadn't said a word to her. Which made her kind of sad, but she always tries to put as much into the relationship as the other person does.

And it sometimes ends up messy. She finds her room, and tries to process everything that is happening around her so fast.
