A Former Y/N Story

Chapter 6

Monday morning, and it's lunchtime with Maya and Lukas.

"So..." Maya said "Are you ready to start your anti-Y/N training?"

"Yes I am."

Lukas places his hand on my shoulder "remember this isn't going to be easy, and Maya isn't one to coddle. Are you sure you're up for the challenge?"

I look to Lukas with determination radiating from my eyes "Let's fucking do this."

Maya smiles "that's what I like to hear!"

Monday

Maya had me walking from one end of the hallway to the other, as she and Lukas attempted to distract me.

First Maya tried to push me to the ground as a mean girl, calling me ugly.

"This is my fight-" Lukas cut me off by throwing a marshmallow at me.

"What was that for?" I asked irritated.

Lukas responded "We're gonna do that every time you exhibit Y/N behavior."

"Surprisingly this was Lukas' idea." Maya added on "Try again."

Tuesday

Once again, we're doing the hallway exercise but this time I think I got the mean girl interaction down.

Maya tried to push me down and call me ugly but this time I stand my ground and ignore her.

"Very good, but can you handle the bad boy interaction?"

"And we brought in a friend." Lukas said as he presented Jason.

"Alright, just as we discussed" Lukas whispered into Jason's ear. I know I saw Jason blush from how close Lukas was to him.

Just then Jason lightly pushed me against the locker. He thinks he slammed me but I know what being slammed is like.

"Y-you're mine. And I'm watching you." Jason said in his best attempt to be the bad boy.

I swear I could hear Maya facepalming and Lukas cracking up laughing.

"I don't belong to anyone." I retort as I push Jason back.

"Wow, first try" Maya said impressed.

"And you, Mr. "bad boy" Lukas patted Jason on the back "thanks for volunteering."

Jason got a bit flustered and irritated "Hey! I am a bad boy!"

Lukas snorted "You're adorable when you lie."

"Oh shut up, Muscle boy."

"Whatever you say, JD."

Wednesday

"Alright Jessica" Maya held up pictures "we're gonna try this again. What are these?"

I look at the picture "Orbs?"

"Lukas..."

I feel another marshmallow hit me

"Once again.."

"Eyes, they're eyes."

I am then handed a marshmallow.

"I don't know if I can do this" I said dejectedly "I mean lunch period is almost over and I'm still saying orbs. I just can't get this right."

"Hey, look at me" Maya cupped my chin with her hand "You can, and you will get this. You know why? Cause you're smart, you're resilient, and the Jessica I know would never give up that easily. And not only that but I am determined to see you succeed. You're not giving up, and neither am I."

Maya's right, I can do this.

"Alright, hit me with the pictures."

Maya points to the picture "what are these?"

"Eyes, they're brown eyes."

Thursday

I am walking to lunch when I heard Jason call out "Hey, Jessica. Can I talk to you for a sec."

I follow Jason into an empty part of the hallway.

"So, remember when you were saying I should confess my feelings to Lukas?"

"Yeah, I remember."

"Well, there's this Halloween dance I wanna ask him out to, but I don't know if I can do it. Just this once can you ask for me? Please please please?"

I sighed "fine, but you owe me one."

I walked to the usual lunch table with Jason trailing me. Lukas was sitting there alone.

"Hey Lukas" I greet him "Where's Maya?"

"It's Pretzel day, so she's getting a pretzel."

"So...you know how there's the Halloween dance coming up? I need to ask, how would you feel about going with-"

"With you?" Lukas interrupts "you're asking me out? Wow this is unexpected but yeah. I'd love to go with you."
