I found this one a little hard to write because Jonathan is such a sweet character, but I hope you like it ❤

"Y/N! You finally came!" Your longtime friend, Dio Brando called to you.

You were just kids, sure, but it felt like you two had spent a lifetime together surviving the London slums. Dio was the only person in this world you were fond of, and vice versa.

But now here he was, adopted by the rich Joestars and living the good life. You were worried that he would want to forget about you, but he wrote letter after letter asking you to come visit him. You were fortunate enough to move to their small town, though you had only modest means. Soon enough you visted.

"Goodness, look at you!" You admired Dio's fancy new suit, which he wore proudly.

"Well, a man is nothing without his matching pair." He said, kissing your hand.

You blushed and quickly yanked it away. "Don't say things like that, Dio." You said seriously. You knew what this was, silly childhood love that couldn't last, especially since he was now rich.

Dio was about to say something but was interrupted.

"Well, who do we have here? A friend of yours, Dio?" A kind looking man walked up to the two of you, with a boy about your age in tow. It was Mr. Joestar without a doubt.

"Yes sir, she's an old friend of mine, Y/N L/N." Dio said gracefully. Everything he did was graceful.

"Its a pleasure to meet you, sir." You said with your best curtsy.

"Well, you seem like a fine young lady. Perhaps you could be friends with my son Jonathan as well." He gestured to the boy, who you saw was glaring at Dio.

Already, you didn't like him.

"Actually Dio, do you think you can come help me with something for a bit? Jonathan, why don't you stay here and get to know Y/N?" Mr. Joestar said.

"Of course" Dio said, shooting Jonathan a glare before walking off.

"Its nice to meet you." you said to Jonathan after they had left. "Are you and Dio good friends?" You were trying to evoke a reaction out of him, to see what he really felt.

"Well I wouldn't say that." he said with a pouty look. "But regardless, he is my brother now."

You were surprised by his kindness, and started to get to know him a little better. He wasn't so bad, but a bit too much of a goody two shoes for you.

He asked you to take a walk with him and you agreed. Being with you was the happiest he had felt in a while. Dio had taken everything from him. 

I can't let Dio take Y/N from me too. But how? They're best friends after all. Y/N said so herself. How could someone like Y/N be so fond of Dio? Doesn't she know he could hurt her? Hurt her like... like he did to Erina...

I can't let that happen. 

Even if she doesn't understand, even if she doesn't want me to, I'll protect her from him.

I won't let Dio take this last bit of happiness away from me!

"Ah, there you are, Y/N." Dio called. "I've been looking for you. You don't mind giving us some time alone, eh Jojo?"

"Of course." Jonathan said courteously.

As you grew up, you would visit the Joestar estate many times at the request of Dio, who repeatedly asked you to distance yourself from Jonathan, partially out of jealousy and partially out of wanting to make Jonathan's life more miserable.
