The Space Between Us (Y! Okuyasu x Reader)

Nobody thought that Okuyasu was scary. He was just a little slow. 

Boy did they make a big mistake.

"Morning Y/N, you look really pretty today!" 

"Oku, you say that to me everyday." you say with a laugh. 

"Well I just think you should be told everyday." he blushed.

If Okuyasu ever got the courage to ask you out, nobody thought you would say yes. There were way too many other guys interested in you, including Josuke himself, though he promised Okuyasu to leave you alone out of respect for their friendship.

You smiled at him. Okuyasu absolutely adored you. He loved seeing you everyday and loved the kindness you showed him. When you hugged him his heart leapt. He just wanted your affection and wished you would always be with him.

"Y/N--" Okuyasu began.

"Hey Y/N!" he was cut off and another guy walked up to you. "Wanna go get some ice cream later?"

Did they just interrupt your conversation with Okuyasu? Other boys always thought they could do that. After all, what was Okuyasu going to do? Hurt one of your friends?

A scowl appeared on his face. He'd had enough.

He waited for the perfect time. Later that day Okuyasu found the boy alone in the bathroom.

"Oh hey, you're Y/N's friend right?" The boy asked. "You should just give up, honestly. You think you actually have a chance with her?" he laughed.

Okuyasu gritted his teeth, his face turning red.

"ZA HANDO"

That boy never met up with you for ice cream that day. 

"Hmm, maybe he forgot?" 

"Don't worry about him, Y/N. If he can forget about meeting you like that, then he doesn't deserve to hang out with you. How about we go get ice cream instead?"

That was where it started.

"Hey Y/N, I know you have a study session with Okuyasu later, but you should come see a movie with us. Take the day off!" 

A classmate trying to get in between Okuyasu's precious time with you? They might find that they're missing an arm tomorrow.

"Y/N, no offense but that hairstyle just does not work for you."

Someone said something hurtful to you like that and made you cry? He'd make sure they didn't have any hair left.

A teacher gave you a lower grade than you expected?

No worries! Okuyasu would be happy to get rid of that assignment for you. The teacher will give you a better grade. Or else.

Someone gave you a nasty look?

It didn't matter if you didn't notice it. Okuyasu noticed.

"There's been some scary stuff going on, hasn't there? If you're scared you can always come to me, Y/N."

Okuyasu took every opportunity to get closer to you. 

"You know, I heard (f/n) gossiping about you a couple days ago. Something about you being crybaby I think. I don't know how anyone could say such horrible things about you, Y/N. But you don't need them, Y/N. How about we spend more time together?"

He didn't care if the lies he told you made you sad at this point. All he wanted was your attention. And he became more clingy than before.

"You want to go where? But you said we could try the new restaurant in town together. Some other time? Please, Y/N, if we don't go, it'll make me sad."

Eventually you didn't have anyone left, people either disappeared or stopped hanging out with you. Even Josuke, as Okuyasu now became jealous at even the smallest things, the most casual conversation would send him over the edge.

"Why were you talking to Josuke, Y/N? Did you just want to ignore me? I know I'm not good enough to be your friend, but you don't need to do that."

You barely had time away from him anymore. You liked spending time with Okuyasu, but you missed other people.

"I wonder whatever happened to (f/n). You said they were talking about me behind my back, but I kinda miss them. I hope their ok."

"Why are you thinking about that, Y/N? You shouldn't bother yourself with that."

"You're probably right, Oku. Thanks for always being here for me."

"I just love spending time with you, Y/N. When you're not around I feel so alone. Please don't abandon me for other people. (I wouldn't let you do that anyway).

Just spend all your time with me, ok?"
