Can I be the one?

A/N: hiya! Hope y'all are enjoying reading this. This chapter will be in third person, with the magical appearance of our goddess Cate Blanchett.

"I like her. That's it. That's how it always has been. Since the first time I saw her. And by the first time we actually talked, I was in absolute awe. But I can't be with her, at least not now. I just got divorced and I have a kid to look after. She definitely won't want the two of us. She's my age and never been married, let alone had kids!
I can feel she's different, though. Truly different, the way she carries herself through this world is something else. Such grace and kindness, she's bold and confident. She's kind to me in a way no one has ever been before, she emanates love with every single pore of her body.
Ok, I don't like her. I love her! I love her brain. Always so smart, so full of knowledge and still humble to listen and learn. I love her smile. I love how she furrows her eyebrows when concentrating. I love her big eyes, always observing the surroundings. I love her voice. I've caught her singing multiple times and it's just heaven. I love her body. My God, her body! Broad shoulders, tall, curvy, muscular and full of tattoos! Most of all, I love the way she treats people. Always respectful and caring. I love her so much! I finally found someone who's willing to give me everything I need: attention, affection and unconditional love." Helena was almost in tears, relieved that she finally got it out of her chest. Even if it wasn't to the right person.

"So explain to me again why are you two not together?" Cate asked, shifting her gaze to somewhere behind Helena. After taking a deep breath, Helena answered.

"Well, my friend, I'm afraid she might not want me anymore. I made her wait for too long." Helena took the hand that Cate offered and squeezed it.

"I would wait for you for a whole lifetime if necessary, Lena."

Helena froze. Chills were sent down her spine. She couldn't believe that she heard it all. Slowly she turned, heart pounding on her chest.

"Y/N. For how long have you been listening?"

"Long enough, Helena. And before you deny everything and tell me I'm going insane, please let me speak."
Y/N got closer and took her hand. Helena didn't pull away.

"It's not news to anyone how much I love you. How bad I want to be with you. I'm pretty sure you're the love of my life and, just by existing, you make my life one hundred percent better. I want you. I want your family. I absolutely adore your kid and it's mutual. I don't see any reason for us to stay apart from each other. Please, allow me to be with you forever. Or as long as we last."

Helena was shaking now. Overwhelmed by love and all the feelings one can have after hearing such things. She wrapped her arms around Y/N in a tight hug, tip toeing to whisper in her ear.

"I do. I allow myself to surrender. I allow you to love me for as long as you want me."

Y/N backed up a little, just to look her woman in the eyes. They both had enormous smiles plastered in their faces. She leaned over and took the beauty by the chin, kissing her lips softly. Cate was now crying because she had witnessed one of the most beautiful moments of her friends' lives.

"My Gosh! My heart's gonna explode! I'm so happy for you two!"
She hugged the couple.

"Thank you so much, Catie! If one day we get married, you're gonna be my bridesmaid!" Said Jones, giving the blonde a kiss on her forehead.

"That's not fair! Blankett is my bridesmaid! Get yourself another one, you little thief!" They all laughed.

"Oh so we're really getting married, huh?" Y/N smirked.

"You won't get rid of me anymore, love!" Helena pulled Y/N in a tight embrace.

"Thank God for that!" Y/N kissed Helena's head.

"Hey! Wrong deity. Thank Hela for that!" Said Cate pretending to be offended.

"All power and all glory to Hela, Goddess of the hopeless romantics!" Y/N bowed to her.

"You're such a dork!" Helena said, biting her cheek softly.

"She's a dork, but she's right!"
