chapter 17

3rd person pov

The girl got off from y/n's body and looked at it. "Pathetic," She mumbled and ran away. Y/n laid there, her heartbeat slowing down.

Jacob ran around the forest, trying to find y/n, getting more and more anxious. He looked around the snow-covered forest (yes ik it's summer there) until Jacob saw y/n's unconscious body.  Jacob ran as quickly as he could, picked her up, and hoped that the Cullens were done fighting and back home.

Once he arrived, everyone came out of the house and looked at him. "I don't know what happened," Jacob said panicking as he handed y/n over to Carlisle. Everyone followed Carlisle to y/n's room as he set her down on the bed.

"I don't hear her heartbeat," Alice said looking at everyone in the room. Carlisle suddenly moved away y/n's hair from her neck and what he saw shocked everyone. "Oh no," Rosalie said leaving the room in distress as Emmett followed her.

Jacob sat down and sighed deeply and looked at y/n. "There is nothing else to do than wait and see," Carlisle said sadly and everyone except Jacob left the room.

y/n's pov

I slowly opened my eyes and saw the Cullens and Jacob looking intensely at me. "Y/N!" Jacob yelled and pulling me in a hug. I hugged him back but he yelped in pain. "Did I hurt you?" I asked confused.

Alice came next to me with a sad face. "Y/n, you..." Alice stopped and took a shaky breath. "You are a vampire," She said looking at me. "No, I'm not," I said laughing, I looked around but none of them were laughing or smiling.

I tried to remember what happened and then it hit me. 'I was running as fast as I could, thought I was safe but the girl came after me. She held me to the ground and I felt her teeth sink into my neck'.

I jumped up and stood in front of the mirror. I looked younger than before, my skin was smooth and my eyes were dark red. I was also ice cold but I didn't feel like freezing. 'I'm not human, I'm a vampire,' I thought to myself, still staring at the mirror.

I felt a pair of hands slide on my waist. "Jacob," I said looking at him trying to push his hands away still mad at him, I wanted to cry, but I just couldn't. "Y/n, this doesn't change anything," Jake said looking at me. I took a breath and smiled a little. Jacob let go as he left from the balcony and I walked downstairs to the kitchen.

I then started feeling burning in my neck. "What's that burning feeling?" I questioned looking at Carlisle. "You need blood," Carlisle responded, disappeared into his office, and came back with a pack of blood. I poured it into a cup and drank it. 

"You could also go hunting but since there is a lot of hunters in the forest, it's a little risky," Carlisle explained and I nodded. We all sat down in the living room. "We have to figure out what your power is," Jasper said, looking at me.

"If you could read thoughts, you would have already done it," Carlisle said thoughtfully. "Try feeling someone's emotions," Rosalie said. I tried hard but couldn't and shook my head. "Do you really think she has it?" Edward said looking at Carlisle. "Maybe," He replied as I looked at them confused.

"There's a power like pain illusion," Carlisle explained finally, "Does anybody volunteer?" Carlisle questioned, looking around the room. "I can do it," Emmet said smiling, "It can't be that bad," he said confidently. I concentrated and mumbled quietly 'pain'.

Emmet groaned as he fell on his knees. I stopped and looked at Emmet "Sorry" I said. "Uh, no it's okay" he laughed it off lightly. "It's very rare and extremely useful if you find yourself in a fight," Carlisle said.

"Jasper should train you a little," Alice said, "You're a newborn so your very strong," Alice added. "Oh yeah," I said. "Let's go then," Jasper said to me and we went to the front of the house. "So I hope you remember some of the tips I gave you, ready?" he asked. "Ready," I said, smiling a little.

The training was rather easy and by the evening we were done. After that I went to my room as the others went hunting, not taking me with them because I was a newborn which I understood. I was reading a book until a knock came on the door.

I went to open the door and saw Jacob there. "Jacob, why are you here?" I asked confused. "Y/n please listen, I will tell you everything," he said taking my hands in his. "Whatever, come in," I said going in as Jacob stood next to me.

"I was really confused with everything, I felt like I had a crush on Bella but it was just one-sided, Edward is good for him and they belong to each other" Jacob said. "Continue," I said. "I thought after that incident, you don't want me anymore and I fully get it, but I'm still going to try," Jacob said looking me deeply in the eyes. "I would never be me without you, you are half of my soul y/n," Jacob said standing up and starting to leave.

I quickly jumped up and pulled him into a hug. I felt his arms wrap around me and hold me up. "Please don't leave me ever again," I said into his neck hugging him tightly. "I won't," Jacob said as he held me. "I think you should go though before the others come back," I said after 5 minutes, "Oh yeah," Jacob said and kissed me.
