In this story sirens will be half human and half fish.
Mermaids are children fantasy character often described as sweet and naive like portrayed in many fairytales on the other hand Sirens usually appear in folklore popular among sailers as the evil creature who lure people with their mesmerizing voice but often eat them or cause huge damage.

mermaids = angels of sea
Sirens = demons of sea.
