The sun casted a bright glow on the windowsill as Jungkook watched the life on the land slowly starts to move. The streets which were barren and looked gloomy until few hours ago was now full of young kids leaving their house for school, for people rushing out of their house to go to their work.
Humans are weird, Jungkook leaned back in his enormous bathtub, which probably cost more than all the furniture combined in his flat, but for Jungkook bathtub isn't a luxury, it is his necessity because he need this space for his tail to feel relaxed .
Like now, he moved his tail around lazily as he submerged completely into water trying to get over the terrible homisick-ness he was feeling. It was perhaps most pathetic way to replicate the sea but you see Jungkook is living on a budget.
He has no plans to live in the land for too long, all he want to do is to find his mates and return back to his home.
Which mermaid would willingly live here, everyone is too busy a piece of paper is more valuable than a living breathing human, everyone is running and chasing things that they don't need always in a mode of competition.
It was just like hell.
Jungkook sat back up as he watched his tail disappear changing into two sturdy pair of legs and he finally got out of the tub letting water drip down his body like pearls.
He stepped out on the mat letting his body drip reaching out for a towel patting himself lightly before lathering his body in layers of lotion, the atmosphere around is way to dry for a mermaid.
Jungkook might be a mermaid, but in the land he was a normal nineteen year old college student, he had taken arts as his course.
He would rather choose music but the mermaid association in the earth prohibits the mermaids to sing in public or randomly because mermaids voices have ability to mesmerize people, and such immense power might lead to evil.
And mermaids aren't evil, sirens are.
Jungkook hadn't heard much about sirens except for the folklore popular around the sea.
Sirens voices aren't mesmerizing, instead they have capability of making of creating hallucinations. They dive deep into anyone's mind and heart to look for their deepest desires and use it to manipulate them.
Sirens used to feast on humans, that's why many millions of years ago humans started hunting them. But because sirens and mermaids looked extremely similar and because mermaids used to live closer to shore while sirens in deep waters it was usually the mermaids who were killed.
That led to an immense war, although before that sirens and mermaids used to get along pretty well but after that mermaids and sirens together became a taboo they became enemies for life and that enmity was passed down from generation to generation.
Although finally the mermaids and sirens together for the last time worked together and wiped down the memories of humans and made them believe that they are just a fraction of the imagination.
Mermaids suffered the greater loss as they have to leave behind their houses near shallow waters and move to the deep sea for their safety.
So, the only thing Jungkook hated was that he might have to face certain sirens because those creatures have mostly came to the land.
They no longer eat humans a lot but rather feast on the wrong and evil deeds of humans so they shifted to land while mermaids continue to live in waters eating seafood and herbs.
He hopes he doesn't cross paths with any evil siren.
