Life was flowing easily, too easily.
However, Jungkook could feel land sickness getting more and more prominent, he felt his gills drying and scales peeling.
He doesn't understand this extreme reaction, many sirens and mermaids have left the ocean and are living comfortably on land he knows that they require to soak in saline or freshwater according to their type but never had he heard someone with such extreme reaction.
Jungkook feels that if he does not go back to the ocean he will corrode away.
It sounds scary, horrible enough to make Jungkook shiver in freight.
He has to go back.

" May I know who you want to meet?? "
The human at the front desk gave him a polite smile as she looked at him making Jungkook more fidgety.
" Kim Namjoon "
For once he saw the girl pause looking at him and then return a polite smile, "which department are they working in?"
" He owns this building, " Jungkook said with a neutral face looking blankly at the girl.
" Sir, if you want to meet the CEO. You must have an application or be registered in their visitor's list. There are only five names in their register and he doesn't have an appointment for the day. I am afraid we can not let you in."
Jungkook looked at the receptionist helplessly his gills are drying at a dangerously quick pace and he just have to go back to his ocean.
" Can you call him, and tell him Jungkook wants to meet him. He knows me.. "
The girl looks unsure but looking at how desperate Jungkook was looking so helpless she picked the landline placed next to her dialing the number.
Within the next five minutes, Jungkook was on a private lift on his way to Namjoon, and Yoongi who was also visiting the pack leader.
The lift opened just outside Namjoon's office.
Jungkook ran toward it slamming the door open startling the two sirens, "I am dying, we have to go back to Ocean, please I can not live here this is suffocating, please.. "
Even he did not realize when his eyes filled with tears and when he started sobbing out of sheer desperation.
Namjoon paused involuntarily at the sight of his mate hysterically crying, but Yoongi was quick to move he rushed toward Jungkook holding him up carrying him on his lap.
Jungkook let loose making his legs turn into a tail with his pants falling off and pooling on the floor.
The tail was no longer shiny and healthy-looking the way sirens have seen it a week ago while swimming with Jungkook instead it looks pale and dry with skin rough and peeling off at multiple parts.
It was bad, really bad, bad enough to make Namjoon gasp in horror.
This does not look like a normal thing, anything that he has ever heard or seen in his centuries-long lifetime does not come close to what he was seeing now.
Is it an illness ???
Yoongi looked much put together with Jungkook in his arms passed out, but it is not hard to notice that he was holding back himself from reacting in any way that can trigger Jungkook more.
This looks like poison.... or a rare disease ... It is not the land sickness Jungkook is claiming it to be that much is clear because usual signs of land sickness are nausea, upset stomach, loss of appetite, etc.
But a corroding tail ??? No, not possible. Not at all.
Jungkook's eyes fall open as he heaved as if having trouble breathing and his tail quivered beneath Yoongi's touch.
" I... I can not... Can not breathe... Help me ... Help.."
Tears flowed out of his eyes as Yoongi rushed toward the bathroom in the office with a bathtub as Namjoon lead them to fill the bath with water before placing Jungkook into it.
Yoongi's eyes were wet with unshed tears as he looked the way his youngest mate seems to relax a bit, but it was confirmed that he was not comfortable enough.
It pains him to see his mate in such a condition and be unable to help him at all. Namjoon wasn't much better either he looks like he was beating himself up for Jungkook's condition.
Yoongi sent a quick text on pack group chat as he was scared to open his bond link and let all the heavy emotions he was feeling get transmitted to his packmates.
" We should take Jungkook to his home. At least for some time. "
Yoongi seemed to agree with the suggestion as he looked at Jungkook lying exhausted in the bathtub, "Contact Lisa, I don't think Jungkook can explain exactly where is his home in the sea "

Within the next two hours, all the sirens had gathered in front of the mermaid council. Jungkook was safely cradled in seokjin's chest as he carried the boy all the way to Lisa's office.
Lisa looked concerned, it took a great deal of self-control for her to just not jump and snatch her best friend out of the hands of a siren. She took a deep breath trying to calm herself down before turning to open the portal.
" just walk through it, you will enter Jungkook's lair however only if he wishes to, you can not enter without his wish as he lives alone in a cave. "
" Alone ???? " it wasn't common for mermaids or sirens to live alone or have a cave all to a single one without a pack or a companion. The fact Jungkook had a cave alone was bewildering.
" I grant the permission" Jungkook extend his hand pressing on the jewel embedded on the gate of the portal opening the portal without giving the sirens enough chance to question further.
The portal opened into a dark cave underwater as Seokjin felt jungkook slip out of his grasp his tail flicking happily as he move around.
He looked as if he was finally able to breathe properly after so long, the sirens were happy but they couldn't ignore the burning sensation in their tails.
Hoseok looked at them breaking the silence.
" Jungkook's cave is poisonous. "
