The "DASHAVATAR" is the Ten primary Avatars of Lord Vishnu....
According to Hinduism, Vishnu is said to descend in the form of 'Avatar' to restore the cosmic order.
The word Dashavatar derives from the word 'Dasa' means 10 and 'Avatar' means incarnation...
Vishnu's 10 Avatars are interpreted as an ascending order from simple life-forms to more complex life-forms.
Let us discuss how.....
Here is a short story 👇
Sumit asked her mother,
"Mom, I am a genetic scientist.
I am working in US on the evolution of man.
Theory of Charles Darwin...
Have you heard of him?"
His mother sat next to him, smiled and said,
"I know about Darwin, my child.
But have you ever heard of Dashavatar?"
Sumit replied yes...
His mom said,
"Okay, then let me tell you one thing which you and your Darwin don't know...
Listen carefully.......
The first Avatar of Lord Vishnu was the 'Matsya Avatar'
It means the fish. This is because life began in water.
Is that not right??
Sumit began to listen with a little more attention...!
She continued.....
Then came the 'Kurma Avatar', which means the tortoise, because the life moved from water to land........the Amphibians!
So the tortoise denoted the evolution from sea to land.
The third Avatar was 'Varaha Avatar', the wild boar,
Which meant the wild animals with not very much intellect. Umm...you can call them Dinosaurs correct??
Sumit nodded with wide eyes...
The fourth Avatar was "Narsimha Avatar"
Half man and half animal, the evolution from wild animals to intelligent beings.
Fifth, the ''Vamana Avatar'', the midget or dwarf, who could grow really tall.
Do you know why is that?
Because there were two kinds of humans, Homo sapiens and Homo Erectus and Homo sapiens won the battle.
Sumit could see that his mom was in full flow and he was stupified....
The sixth was the "Parshuram Avatar'' ,
the man who weilded the axe. The man who was a cave and forest dweller.
Angry and not social.
The seventh Avatar was the"Rama Avatar'',
the first rationally thinking and social being, who practices and laid out the laws of society on the basis of human relationships.
The eighth Avatar was the "Krishna Avatar'',
the statesmen, the politician, the diplomat, the Ambassador , the sutile interpreter, the lover who played the game of society and taught how to live and thrive in Adharmic social structure...
The ninth Avatar was the "Budhha Avatar'' ,
The chief architect of Buddhism, the man who showed the path of peace and enlightenment to the people in this Cruel world, a person with high level of intellect.
And finally my boy, will be the " Kalki Avatar" ,
The tenth Avatar of lord Vishnu..
The man on whom you and all the scientists are working on,
The man who will be genetically supreme.."
Sumit looked at his mother speechless...and said,
"This is amazing mom.., how
did you?.....................This makes sense..!
She said,
"Yes it does, son...!
We Indians knew some amazing things..
But just didn't know how to pass it on scientifically..
So we made them into Mythological stories..."
Mythology creates faith, and it makes man sensible...
It is just the way 'You' look at it......... Religious or Scientific..... Your call.
