~Kie's pov~
"I thought you said you would stay awake" Said Pope.
I opened my eyes and looked around. We were almost in Outer Banks. It was cold outside. The sun hasn't appeared yet. The ocean was calm like it was last night.
JJ was standing behind me. I almost fell when JJ got up. I hadn't realized until then that I was leaning on his feet.
I heard a voice coming from behind.
"I need to talk with you son" yelled Luke from the other side of the boat.
I got up and tried to walk after JJ.
"I'll come with you" I said.
"No, it's better if you stay here especially cause of the leg" he said looking at Sarah.
Sarah looked back at him and nodded like they had some kind of secret way to communicate.
She took me by the shoulders and helped me walking away from the group. I looked back at JJ but he already left.
"Are we really going to let him go alone?" I asked annoyed.
"He's not alone, he's with John B" she said.
"Besides I've wanted to talk with you for a while about you and JJ" she said with a smirk on her face.
"What about me and JJ?" I asked confused.
"You two are pretty close since the boat incident"
"We've always been close"
"Not that kind of close, close in a way that can turn into a relationship" she said.
"Me and JJ are just friends and nothing more. Besides no pogue on pogue making, remember?" I said.
"That rule is already broke. I broke it and so did you with Pope" she said.
"Well I'm not gonna break it again" I said. "Me and JJ are just friends and nothing more"
"If you say so" she said dropping the subject.
We've walked around for a while until we got to the room where JJ and Luke where.
"I need a break, I think I walked for too long" I said sitting on the floor.
When I saw Sarah wanting to sit next to me I added.
"You should go tell the others so they won't worry"
She nodded walking away.
I've stayed there for a few minutes but no one came back from the cabin.
I got up trying to go back to the others. I've walked a few steps then my way was cut by Luke.
"Anna's daughter" he said with a smirk. "You should watch where you're going" he added.
I really wanted to punch him again.
"When will we get to Outer Banks?" I asked ignoring what he said.
He looked at me with a smile. Which made me want to punch him even more than earlier.
"What if I don't wanna take you and your bastard friends back to Outer Banks"
"You'll take us to Outer Banks"
"What makes you so sure?"
"You'll either take us to Outer Banks either I will have to tell the cops what you did" I said looking at him.
His smile vanished. I could see he was worried but tried not to show it.
"You wouldn't dare" he started but I stopped him.
"Oh trust me I would. And the fact that you ran away will only help me even more" I said with a smirk on my face.
"If you will do that" he started but another voice stopped him.
"If she'll do that you wouldn't even think of touching her" JJ said from behind me.
He came in front of me, sitting like a wall in front of his father even if I could handle him myself.
"If she's not telling the cops then I will" he said.
"You wouldn't dare" Luke said. "I'm your father"
JJ looked at him without showing any emotions. I looked at his hands. They were shaking. I slowly moved my hand and took on of his hands in mine.
"Don't even try saying that" JJ said moving his free hand in his hair like he usually does when he's nervous.
Sarah came back and rushed towards me and JJ. Before she could get closer, Luke already turned around and started walking in the opposite direction.
"We'll continue this another time" he said.
Sarah looked at us then back at Luke. We waited until Luke was far enough before anyone finally said anything.
"What happend?" she asked.
"Nothing" JJ said still not pulling his hand away from mine. "Just my dad and his bullshits"
We went back to the others without saying a word. After thousands of questions about what took us so long JJ pulled me aside.
"What the hell was in your mind?" he whispered.
I looked at him confused.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"Why were you talking with my dad especially without me there?"
"We were only talked" I said trying to make the situation better but it didn't look like it helped.
"What if he would've hurt you" he asked. "Especially since you threatened him"
Before he could say anything else I spoke.
"I only made sure he would take us home"
He avoided eye contact. I tried to guess what he was thinking but it was pointless. I couldn't get any emotions from his face.
"Kie you can't just go at him without me. I know him and I don't want you or any of them to get hurt" he said pointing to the others.
I moved one of my hands to his cheek and tried my best to ignore how fast my heart was beating.
"I promise I'n fine" I said.
He modded and kept looking at me and I didn't know what to say. I didn't even need to say anything. I was just glad to finally know he was okay. We stayed there just looking at eachother until John B came.
"Guys, we need to go or I think Cleo will stab Luke according to how she's looking at him" he said pointing with his head towards Cleo.
I look at Cleo who was sitting on the floor playing with her knife while her eyes were fixed on Luke.
Looks like Luke got a new enemy.
