On Wednesday morning, Andrea woke up to the smell of biscuits. Emerging from her room, she followed her nose to the kitchen, where she found Remus Lupin mixing batter in a bowl.
"Hey, Andie," he said, not turning around to look at her. Andrea yawned, shooting a puzzled look to his back as she hopped up onto the kitchen island.
"How d'you know it was me?" she questioned. Remus turned to her, still mixing the batter. "I could smell your cherry shampoo as soon as you opened your bedroom door. And none of the guys walk as delicately as you."
Andrea pulled her legs up Indian-style and tried to glance into his mixing bowl. "What'cha makin'?" she asked sweetly, wanting desperately to be a taste-tester.
Remus quickly stepped back, out of her reach, and smirked at her. "I got a craving for chocolate chip biscuits." Andrea's eyes lit up as she realized his bowl was full of raw cookie dough.
She looked around him and saw through the glass door of the oven. There was already a tray in there, baking. He didn't really need another bowl full, did he?
"Oh, come on, Moony. Cookie dough is much better than the actual cookies!" she exclaimed dramatically. Remus chuckled, looking down at his dough. She really had been living with James and Sirius for the whole summer. Her dramatics had reached new limits. "Then call them what they're called," he challenged her.
Andrea grinned proudly. "Biscuits," she said in her poshest, fakest, English accent.
As Remus resisted her begging, Andrea looked around the kitchen, wondering where everyone else was. As if sensing her question, Remus answered.
"Sirius and James are out flying in that field behind the house you call a garden," he explained.
Andrea nodded, vaguely remembering James coming into her room and asking her to come fly that morning and her kicking him in his glasses.
"And Peter?" she asked. "Surely he's not in a house where cookies are being baked without following the smell?"
Remus laughed, checking on his biscuits in the oven. "No. Pete headed into the forest next to the house to see if he could find any wolfsbane. Apparently, legends say different things and Sirius wants to see if it has a positive or negative effect on me."
Andrea smiled. "Sirius is invested in making being a werewolf as easy and as normal as possible for you."
Remus stopped stirring and stared into his bowl in thought. Andrea studied him as he got all flustered and turned around to her again, his cheeks a little redder than usual.
