-// SONG: Maps, Maroon 5 \\-

A/N

First modern song in this book but it's fitting because we finally talk about the map again!

19th of January, Monday, 1976

Transfiguration had long been many of the Marauders favourite subject, for obvious reasons. But amongst the rest of the pupils, Defence Against the Dark Arts had become quite popular after the New Year.

Not because of the subject itself, but because of the teacher who had taken over after Miss Blake fell ill and took off with no warning.

The classroom had never been quieter, and Mary and Andrea had never gone this long without talking in the classroom.

"I know this isn't Herbology, but I'm curious. Who can tell me what wolfsbane is?" Professor O'Brien asked the class.

Andrea and Mary's hands both shot up at the speed of light. They turned to each other with scowls, daring the other to put their hand down.

"Ah, I'm glad we have some eager participants," the young Professor smiled, showing perfectly straight, pearly white teeth. He walked around and leaned against the front of his desk, his grey vest and rolled up white shirt tightening in a very complimentary way.

"Miss Russo, go ahead."

Andrea shot Mary a side-eye, an uncontrollable smirk spreading across her face.

Earning ten points for her house, Andrea felt very happy with herself after that lesson. Until a very grumpy James got a hold of her.

Gasping in surprise, Andrea spun around as someone grabbed her arm and pulled her backwards. Sirius looked on with a quizzical look but Andrea waved him off as James pulled her into an empty broom closet.

"D'you mind?" she sassed him, straightening her jumper which James had been clutching as he pulled her away. "Sorry, just thought I'd help you wipe the drool off your chin," he growled back.

Andrea looked up at him with an unimpressed look. "What drool?" she asked him. James crossed his arms across his chest and Andrea found it very hard to concentrate as the fabric tightened over his muscles. "The drool from daydreaming about Mister O'Brain-dead in there," he huffed.

Andrea studied his hard features for another second. "James... are you jealous?" she teased him. "Of course, I'm jealous!" he barked back. "Oh," Andrea said, slightly surprised. She didn't expect him to own it like that so quickly.

"It's bad enough all the guys drooling over you daily. I can't control that, though. Besides, you don't even notice any of them, so I feel pretty secure about that. But watching you admire someone other than me? That kills me."
