Chapter 3

~Bucky's POV~

As I drove toward the compound, I couldn't stop thinking about Y/N. Her eyes were so familiar and I couldn't think from what. The way she kept her distance from me makes me think I did something wrong. I pulled up to the tall building and parked in the garage. I walked in the door and walked over to the elevator. I saw Sam walking the same way. 

"Hey Bucky." He said and I held the elevator door open for him.

"Hey." I pressed the button to the tenth floor. 

"What have you been up to lately?" He asked breaking the silence. Sam and I have never gotten along.

"Why do you care?" I asked him.

"I was trying to be nice, man." He said. "No need to be a dick about it." That last part was said quietly. 

"What?" I walked over to him on the elevator as he walked back. Before I got a chance to do anything the doors opened.'

"Well, won't you look at that." He said and walked out of the elevator and Steve walked in. 

"What was that about?" He asked. 

"Nothing. Where am I sleeping tonight?"

"The nineteenth floor." He said pressing the button.

 ~Y/N's POV~

I was walking to my room when I heard the elevator ding. I was the only person who lived on this level so I thought it was Nat or Wanda. But I turn around and see Steve and the tall dude with long hair.

"Hey, Y/N." Steve said. 

"Why are y'all up here?" I asked.

"Bucky's staying in the extra room up here." I hesitated and stepped back a little. 

"Why?" I asked. 

"Because he needs to sleep like every other person in the world." We hear the elevator ding again. I look over their shoulder and see Nat.

"Hey Rodgers. Barnes." 

"Nat." Barnes said. I clenched my jaw. I looked at Nat and shook my head.

"What's going on?" She asked as she walked up next to me. 

"'Barnes' is staying up here. In the extra room down the hall. Across from mine." I said. 

"Is there a problem?" Steve asked.

"No." I shook my head.

"Okay, then. Nat come on it's getting late." He motioned to the elevator. "Y/N show Bucky to his room." I went wide-eyed and nodded. When I knew they were gone my heart started to beat fast. I started to walk away and I heard the footsteps follow behind me. 

"Here." I said pointing to the door. Before he walked into the door I spoke. "We should keep our distance." He looked at me and frowned. 

"Why?" He asked. "You don't even know me." 

"More than you think I do." I said. 

"What does that mean?" he asked stepping closer. I stepped back with every step he took forward. 

"Nothing. It means I want to keep our distance." I said and turned around to my door. I walked in and shut it. I started to cry.

~Bucky's POV~

"Nothing. It means I want to keep our distance." She walked into her room and shut her door. What the hell was that? What does that mean, 'More than you think I do.'  I thought to myself and walked to her door. I wanted to knock but I couldn't so I went to my room and layed down on the bed. Y/N was beautiful, I wanted to get to know her. I've never seen a woman like her before. 

The Next Morning

I woke up to something being thrown at my stomach. It was a shoe. 

"Tony wants us in the training room in fifteen minutes." I heard Y/N's voice. "Get up and come one!" She yelled and shut the door. This girl is kind of getting on my nerves. I opened my eyes and got up. I put on some shorts that Steve left in here and a muscle shirt. I ran to the elevator and rode it down.

"Finally." Tony said.

"I'm here, Stark. Don't push it."

"All right, Terminator." He said back. I sat down in between Nat and Steve. I looked and saw Y/N standing by the window. "Training. So I'm giving you partners. I don't want to hear complaints." He said. "Triple imposter and Capsicle. Rocket Man and Little Witch. Ninja Belle and Terminator." 

"Uh, Tony. No." Getting that reaction, I assumed she was partnered with me.

"Uh, Y/N. Yes." He mocked her. She stepped toward the table. "Hey! Calm it." She glared at him. "You're training with James, end of story." I saw Nat whisper something to her but didn't hear it. She nodded and walked out. I followed her and so did everyone else. She was already getting herself ready for one on one combat when I walked in. 

"Let's just get this over with." She said walked by me. 

"She's really starting to piss me off." I told Steve. But Y/N heard.

"Aww. And we wouldn't want that, would we?" She said like she was talking to a child.

"Y/N. Behave." Steve ordered. 

"Sure." I heard Nat and Wanda say at the same time. I walked up to her and she was all ready to pounce.

"Ready?" I asked and she nods. She ran at me and jumped up so I ducked but she ended up kicking me in the back. This was gonna be great.
