Chapter 31

~Nat's POV~

I got to the gate to my plane and I decided to call Bruce. I dialed his number.

"Hello, this is Dr. Bruce Banner." I smiled.

"I'm not saved on your phone, Brucey. I'm offended." I heard a small sigh on the other end.

"Hey, Nat."

"You guys found her right?"

"Yeah." He assured me. "Is there anything in particular you need because we're kind of in a situation." I tensed up.

"What does that mean?" I asked.

"Nothing." He quickly said.

"I'm getting on a plane now and I'll be there in six hours. So you tell me now, or I found out later. Angry." I said, without stutter.

"Y/N's powers have become unmanageable." I took a deep breath.

"How so?" I heard a crash. "What was that?"

"I have to go. See you soon." The line went dead. I shook my head. I got on the plane, antsy. What was going on? My leg started to bounce up and down. I texted Tony.

Coca-Cola Can

Tony, check the cameras and 
tell me what's going on.

Why?

Just humor me.

He sent me a video of light.

I shook my head at his answer. I sighed and looked out the window and saw that the plane was already off the ground. 

~Y/N's POV~

I was in the shower because Bucky told me to warm up. I didn't ever have to worry about the memories with my parents. It was the one constant in my life. I still remember my sixth birthday like it happened a few days ago, well I remember what happened that morning.

I was sleeping and dreaming about my friends and I were going to do that day. I felt someone's hand lay on my forehead. So I opened my eyes to see my mom sitting on my bed.

"Good morning, sweetheart." She said. I sat up and gave her a hug. "You're getting so big."  I giggled.

"Momma, I'm the same size as yesterday." She did a nose scrunch and my dad came in. They both started singing 'Happy Birthday' in spanish. I always liked the way Mexican restaurants sing it, so I made them start singing it spanish. I smiled ear to ear. 

"Happy Birthday, squirt." My dad said and I blew out the candles on the stack of  pancakes with green sprinkles on it.

"Thank you!" I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs and see my dog Ash wagging her tail like crazy. My parents were behind me.

That was one of my favorite memories, and it was interrupted by a knock on the door. 

"Hey, Doll. You okay?" I turned off the water and grabbed the towel off the rack, wrapping it around me before stepping out of the shower. "You were in there for a while." I couldn't hold any feeling in. My face fell into my hands. "Hey." He grabbed my wrist pulling me closer to him and he wrapped his arms around me. I just sobbed into his chest. I could feel the cool touch of his metal arm on my upper back. I felt the comfort I felt with Wanda, Nat, and my parents. I stopped crying slowly. I didn't even notice. His hands moved from my back to my face, moving my face to make me look at him. "You are fine. You understand." I nodded. I pushed my face to his and kissed him. My left hand made it's way to his hair. I pulled back and he rested his forehead on mine with the tips of our nose.

"God, I wish we could we go back to last night." I whispered. 

"Me, too." He pecked a kiss of my lips, then my cheek, pulling me back into a hug. I took in his smell. "Alright, Bruce wants to talk to you." 

"Okay. I gotta change first." He nodded and went to lay on the bed that was still messed up. I walked over to my dresser and I see the shirt I took from him on the floor. I picked it up, dropped the towel and pulled it over my head. I put on underwear and dark red leggings. My hair was still soaking wet, but I didn't acknowledge it. I walked over to the bed and grabbed his right hand pulling him up. "Get up." I pulled with all my strength to get him up. I did after a few tries. He chuckled quietly when I silently, but not so silently sighed in victory. I started walking backwards reaching for his hand with my left hand. He took my hand and we went downstairs. I felt my right hand shaking when we walked into the common area, so I balled it into fist.

"Hey, Y/N." He said looking up from his book. I felt my heart pounding.

~Bruce's POV~

When I saw Y/N and Bucky, they were holding hands. All I can think about is that they hated each other less than a week ago. It's crazy how human feelings work. 

"Hey, Y/N." I said. "Do you feel any better?" I asked. 

"Yeah, but um. My hands have been shaking a lot." She said. "I thought it was because I was cold." Letting go of Bucky's hand, she held her hands up and they were glowing green. "See that wasn't happening a minute ago." She looked at Bucky. "What is happening?"

"I do-." I started but I was interrupted by a ball of light flying right past me. But I dodged it.

"Bruce! I'm so sorry." Then it happened again. And again. Then I feel the phone in my back pocket vibrate and I answer. 

"Hello, this is Dr. Bruce Banner." I answered

"I'm not saved on your phone, Brucey. I'm offended." I sighed.

"Hey, Nat." I said. Another ball of energy came out of her hand and toward Bucky. He dodged it quickly.

"How about you point it at something else, doll." He said.

"You guys found her right?"

"Yeah." Another ball of energy flew by me."Is there anything in particular you need because we're kind of in a situation."

"What does that mean?" I heard her say.

"Nothing." I tried to cover up what I had just said.

"I'm getting on a plane now and I'll be there in six hours. So you tell me now, or I found out later. Angry."  My eyes went wide and I looked at Bucky.

'What' He mouthed at me.

"Y/N's powers have become unmanageable." I heard her sigh on the other end. Bucky shook his head.

"How so?" Instead of energy flying out of her hands, it made her fly through the glass to the meeting room. "What was that?"

"I have to go. See you soon." I didn't answer and hung up. I heard the woosh of something familiar, and it hit Y/N. She was soon on the ground. I turned around and see Clint. 

"Did you just shoot her with an arrow?" Bucky asked running up to her unconscious body.

"It was a tranquilizer." He said. "How come when I retire, something goes to shit?"
