Camp Half-Blood is weird. I don't mean that in any sort of negative sense, though. It feels to good to be true.
Sage has been here for months, and honestly? It's the first place she's felt at home- like it's okay to be herself. Most days are the same repetitive process; wake up, have tea with Chiron, do some chores around the house, and train with the Dionysus cabin. Since showing up at camp, she has yet to be claimed. She doesn't mind. (That's a lie.) She's happy as long as she can be herself, and camp let's her do just that.
Throughout her time here, Sage has made some great friends. To name a few, there's Will Solace, Annabeth Chase, Drew Tanaka, and surprisingly Nico Di Angelo. You may be surprised that Percy isn't on that list, but don't worry! They'll be great friends in the future.
She currently doesn't know how to feel about him. He's kind- don't get her wrong! But he feels to, perfect? He's done all these amazing things, yet she hasn't seen him snap once. That's something she looks forward to witnessing. And although she wished she could witness him snap, she didn't wish to see Annabeth Chase snap. That's something she witnessed a few days ago.
If you know anything about Sage, you know she's easy-going, 'carefree'. For her, it's easier to survive if you don't have any worries. The concept of being so attached to someone scares her, yet she craves it.
Watching Annabeth crumble to floor of the big house, pure terror in her eyes, was not something Sage wished to see again, or feel herself. She could feel the pain. She could tell that Annabeth chase would destroy the underworld if it meant Percy Jacksons safety. She promised herself it would never get to that point, if there was even a slim chance that either of them would pass (by anything but natural causes), she would prevent it. Even if it meant giving her own life in trade.
Annabeth Chase was the first person Sage Henderson could ever say she felt true, pure love for.
Watching such a strong young woman crumble tore her heart in two. It filled her with something she couldn't figure out.
When Annabeth hastily asked, "Where's Percy?" and "Have you seen him??", Sage could only assume something out of their control had happened.
Sage would bring the world to it's knees for Annabeth Chase.
But, she did know that this was something she shouldn't meddle in unless she's apart of the quest.
Since arriving at Camp Half-Blood, Chiron had taught her a lot. She wasn't dumb by any means, but just had to tweak her knowledge a bit. Still, something about being related to the Greek Gods felt off to her, but she wouldn't word that. She wouldn't want to be more of an outcast than she already was.
While Chiron calmed down the frantic blonde, or attempted too, Sage tripped her way out of the big house to find any sign of Percy. Her first destination was his cabin, obviously.
