"So, what changed your mind?" He leaned slightly backwards, his hands on his hips.

"About what?" You approached him, the sand squishing between your toes.

"Leaving. Elf told me that you were practically begging to escape, and almost died. Twice." He chuckled, remembering how weird it was to hear that you of all people were on the verge of death.

"Okay, for one, I was not begging. And when you put it that way, it makes me regret my decision, so be quiet and go home." You immediately stood your ground, embarrassed. Goodbye, dignity. "Why do you care anyways?"

"Caring and being curious are two different things." He crossed his arms, glaring down at you.

"Yeah, well you never were a curious cat." You glared back, already done with talking.

"Hey, (y/n)! Whatcha doin'?" Uno yelled from the railing, watching you two down there.

"Was it them?" He pointed to Uno and the others with his thumb, taking note of your expression change.

You looked up at them, and they waved at you cheerfully. Waving softly back, you turned to Ikkaku with a smile.

"Yes."

That was the only answer he needed before he grabbed your collar, holding you up in the air. You grabbed onto his hand, glaring up at him.

"You're throwing everything away for this? Musashi said the same thing. That idiot-" Ikkaku paused, pointing up at Jyugo. "Changed his mind."

"Yes, I am! Why would it matter to you anyways? You've always tried to keep me from doing anything!" You recalled all the times he kept you off missions and away from the rest of the team.

"Leave her alone!" All of them shouted from the top of the railing, ready to run down again.

You put your hand in the air, signaling them not to save you. Not again.

"I only wanted to keep you away! Get the blood off of your hands! We were going to get off the team together, Kojiro and I, but you fucked it up." He snarled at you, each word angrily hissing out of his mouth.

"How is that my fault? It doesn't even concern me!" You didn't understand a word of what he was saying. It wasn't like him to say these kinds of things.

"Because we were going to bring you with us, but then you got yourself stuck in this hellhole!" He tightened his grip, blue sparks flying around his body.

"How was I supposed to know?!" You softened your grip on his hand, seeming to understand that he was only upset.

"I don't know!" He dropped you into the sand, and you picked yourself up, facing him again.

"I'm sorry, then." You shook off the sand in your hair, looking up at him.
