CHAPTER 9.

Yamaguchi had just gotten out of school late because their teacher kept them for half an hour after class to talk about orientation and future projects. This all conversation had made Yamaguchi really anxious and their mood got even worse when they discovered the weather that was waiting for them outside.
They whined and started running towards their apartment the faster they could, soaked with the rain.
They decided it was too much, the day was going awfully and figured they could just wait in the bus station nearby until the shower stopped.
Yamaguchi arrived there shortly and sat on a bench, sighing of both exhaustion and relief about not being under the rain anymore. They thought about earlier's conversation with their teacher while observing the people around them. The station wasn't very crowded. There were a couple of grandmas and grandpas sitting on the bench in front of them, discussing the latest newspaper, and there were also a girl sitting right next to Yamaguchi, who arrived not long after they did. She looked cute.

Yamaguchi never really liked labels so didn't actually care what their sexuality was. At least they didn't give it a name. They said they were gay a lot because it made things easier, but they had already been attracted to some girls in the past too.
However, it was on very rare occasions and didn't happen often.

They looked at the girl and saw she seemd even more freezing than them. Her face was very pale, she looked almost sick. Yamaguchi observed her trying her best to heat herself up with the tiny vest she had on.
She didn't seem like a dangerous person, and really looked like she was dying.

- « Hum... excuse me. You look really cold, do you want to use my coat? At least until your bus arrives? I don't get sick very often so...»

The way she reacted threw them off. Her face, who was already pink from the cold, turned at least 10 shades darker and a big smile grew on her face.

- « You are exactly like what I imagined. So nice, Tadashi Yamaguchi. »

She was wearing their school uniform. It wasn't as creepy as it sounded, was it ?

- « Actually, I'm not waiting for the bus, I was just sitting here to wait until the rain stopped. It looks like the sky has calmed down, want to walk home together ? You're still going to hand me that vest right? » she continued.

That was a lot of informations to process at once for Tadashi, who blinked twice before they mindlessly replied :

- « Al- alright. »

The two started walking home together. The atmosphere was an awkward one : they were were silent and the girl was simply staring at them with the brightest smile on her face. Tadashi tried their best to break out of the uneasiness.

- « So... how do you know my name ? »

- « You're not like other guys Yamaguchi. I met you before I got to highschool, at last year's school festival. »

Yamaguchi titled their head and looked at her with a questioning look.

- « You looked so happy, and you smiled so much, it really impressed me. I've been admiring you ever since. »

Yamaguchi blushed. This girl had been admiring them for more than a year ? They both found it incredibly flattering and also quite creepy, if they were completely honest.
The turned their head away and the two walked in silence again for a while before the girl abruptly stopped.
She got in front of Yamaguchi and stated calmly:

- « I'm in love with you. »

- « My name is Mina Komine, first year from class A ! Hope you remember me ! » she continued before running away.
