"you can't be a hero. i'm sorry young midoriya." those few words were enough to almost knock izuku over.
why? why couldn't he be a hero? he already knew the answer. he was quirkless, a useless deku like kids at school had told him. he should have listened. quirkless people couldn't be hero's.
izuku didn't listen when All Might apologized. He stood there, and didn't notice his idol leaving the roof until he was left alone. only then did the tears come. he covered his mouth and let out a choked sob, crumpling to the ground. his head hit his knees and he couldn't help but feel sick.
why did he have to ask? he could have just lived without his hero crushing his dreams his future.
he realistic. a part of him says. maybe if you take a swan dive off the roof you'll be born with a quirk in your next life. he echos kachaans words.
izuku stands ups, stumbling towards the railing and clasping it with white knuckles.
maybe he should listen to what kachaan had told him. maybe he should just jump. his grip tightened, and he could feel the course and probably rusted metal rub harshly against his skin.
he should. he should do it. jump.
