Robin woke up in his tent, it was raining out. From head to toe all he could feel was happiness. Finally, the day had come that Chrom would kick Sumia out of the Shepherds. He sat up in bed, yawning. Walking hurt a bit, but he felt a little better from resting. Quickly getting dressed, Robin stepped out of his tent. Chrom was out there, he noticed Robin and sprinted over to him.
"Hey!" he noticed his straining and held him up. "You're supposed to be getting better, not walking around." he led him back into his tent.
"I know, but I'm so happy. Finally we can go public with us, I feel so excited. Like I can do anything now." he smiled.
Chrom blushed a little, it has been a while since he saw Robin smile. "I am happy as well. Please stay in bed for now. I'll make the announcement in a little. For now, though, you really need to-"
They heard footsteps approaching, as fast as he could, Robin sat down in bed while Chrom stood away from him. Sumia walked in.
"I thought I told you...not to see each other at all." she hissed.
Chrom folded his arms, with an angry expression on his face. "I don't care what you say anymore. We won't be taking orders from you. From today on, you are banned from the Shepherds."
"That's not a smart move. Upsetting your girlfriend like that. I guess you really want everyone to know you've been sleeping together..." she crossed her arms.
"I'm prepared to let everyone know. No longer will we be blackmailed by you. Now, you have until the end of the day to gather your things and leave."
She smiled, "I thought this would happen. I tried to prevent you from meeting, because I knew you would do this. I did everything in my power to keep this from happening. For your own good, you know. I hope you're feeling brave by saying this to me." she started to walk out.
"I'd watch your back." she smiled, then sprinted away.
"That was weird." Chrom went to sit next to Robin, putting his arm around his shoulder and bringing him closer. "That sounded threatening to me, we need to be careful." Robin warned. "Please keep Frederick by you today, Chrom. Surround yourself with people so she doesn't hurt you."
"What about you?" Chrom asked.
"I'll be fine, just worry about yourself..."
"Don't be so reckless, you'll be an easy target with the way you are now. I'll keep you by my side. You will be safe with me."
___
Chrom had made the announcement with Robin, some of the Shepherds were touched by their bravery, while others had suspected their relationship from the start. They all had one thing in common though, every single one of them hated Sumia.
Sumia asked for some more time to pack, since she had a lot of things. She said she would be gone by morning, and Chrom agreed. He kept Robin in his tent that night.
It was storming.
Robin and Chrom huddled together, every time thunder would crack Chrom held Robin close and smoothed out his hair.
"I'm so happy we can be together." Robin murmured."Me too..." he smiled.
"I love you. More than anything. I'm glad I could prove it to you. Nothing will never hurt you again, not as long as you're by my side." Chrom smiled.
Robin smiled as well, but then a look of worry spread across his face.
"...I should go make sure Sumia is actually packing instead of plotting." he got out of bed.
"Absolutely not." Chrom warned, "There's no way I'm letting you do this."
"She could be up to something...It'd be in our best interest to check up on her."
"We'll make Frederick do it."
"Isn't he sleeping?" Robin furrowed his brow.
"I think you're right, it's late. Still, I won't allow you to meet her alone."
"Im sorry, Chrom...I'd rather it be me than you." He smiled, leaving the tent.
"Dammit, Robin, I said no!" he ran out into the rain, grabbing him by the shoulders.
"Don't go throwing yourself into danger when there's people who need you! You don't have to be brave all the time!" he shook him, Robin looked scared at first, but then he smiled. "I just want to keep you safe..." he sighed."Let me keep you safe this time..." he hugged him. "Please."
Robin sighed, pushing Chrom back softly. The rain had made them both drenched.
"You can wait for me outside the tent, but I need to go make sure everything is alright." Robin started to head in the opposite direction, with Chrom following behind him.
Robin stepped inside Sumia's tent, she was sitting with her head in her knees.
"Oh, Robin." she looked up at him with tears in her eyes, "Come to gloat?"
"No." he said flatly. "I came to check up on you."
"How kind." she said sarcastically as she stood up, walking towards him. He stepped back cautiously.
"What's the matter? You can't be afraid of little Sumia can you?" she laughed. Robin looked around her tent, she was all packed up.
"I see you are packing, so I will leave now." he turned to leave, she smiled devilishly, pulling out her dagger before whispering, "I told you to watch your back."
