I felt as though this was the closest I could see Josephine being~
~~~I woke up and blinked. Did yesterday really happen? Each event that happened seemed more than surreal, out of place. Flashes of Hawks' winning smile and Dabi's sapphire eyes fluttered through my mind, and I shook my head. Without a doubt, yesterday was real. It had to be.
Right?
I groggily slipped out of bed and removed a towel from a dingy closet, slowly slinking into the discoloured bathroom. I checked myself in the mirror as I brushed through tangled hair and cringed. Dark circles hung underneath my eyes. I washed my face and blinked aggressively, so now I was awake but still looked dead. I tutted my appearance and began to strip off my clothes. Maybe a quick shower would do some good.
After a while I turned off the showerhead and shivered as I quickly stepped out of the cocoon of heat, wrapping my towel around me. I quickly threw on my hero attire while drying my hair with my hands, my fingers glowing slightly with the heat of my flames in my blood. In no time, I was completely dry and ready to go. I checked my phone. 9:38 AM. I sighed in relief. Today would just be another normal day. Variety was and is the spice of life, and yesterday was enough spice for me. I smiled and relaxed. It would just be another day of me kicking ass. I was satisfied.
A pang in my heart said otherwise at the thought of not being surprised with another impromptu mission, but I ignored it and turned on the faucet, brushing my teeth.
Eventually I got myself out the door. It was about a five minute flight to my agency, and I was right on schedule. I pulled out my wings and stretched before launching myself into the air. I hummed and frowned as I looked to the sky, which was completely devoid of the sun. Instead, thick cotton clouds that darkened ever so slightly blanketed the sky, and even a droplet of rain landed on me. It was going to be one of those days then, huh?
I landed without incident in my agency, and a few people eyed me warily. One of my attendants sniffled as she came up to me, tears in her eyes. Her bottom lip quivered so much, and my face fell. What had happened? Was she okay? I looked around briefly and saw that my office door was creaked open slightly. Was there a break-in? I turned my attention back to the lady and she hiccupped, wiping her eyes as she spoke.
"Sun Keeper, y-your office..." I smiled at her comfortingly before approaching the open door. I stepped inside and froze. There, on my desk, was the 3rd ranked hero, casually sitting in expectation of my arrival.
"Yo," he greeted, still on my desk. I gently shut the door, my eyes closed. I crossed my arms and strode across the floor towards him, stopping just before my desk. "Long time no see, how'd the date go?"
"The date was... Fine," I admitted, smiling slightly despite the obvious breach in privacy. "Did it accomplish what you needed?" He held up his hands as if to say more or less. I sighed and hung my head low. "Sorry, It's been a while since I had been on a date with anyone." He shook his head in denial, his eyes wide.
"Oh no no no," he reassured, "No, he texted me right away! That's why I'm here, actually," he admitted sheepishly, his hand going to the back of his head as he scratched nervously. "He actually wanted to meet with us by the docks at noon. Do you think you can make it? I've never made so much progress with him before." His amber eyes beseeched mine, and I found my boundaries crumbling before him. I cried in frustration and huffed, puffing my cheeks and hiking up my shoulders like a child, and he grinned victoriously. He jumped up and off of the desk and scooped me into a hug, squishing his cheek against mine, his wings encasing us. I grew flustered and pushed, but he held me tightly. It was actually quite... Comforting.
I always loved a good hug.
"Fine, I'll help you out. But I need to do my own hero work today as well. I'll try to make it by noon, okay?" He nodded enthusiastically. Suddenly, he swooped in and placed a kiss on my cheek. I turned beet red and swatted him away, but it only made him smile more.
"Thank you, you're a doll, Sunny!" He thanked, and I turned away from him, suddenly very intrigued with the floor.
"Yeah yeah, just get outta here," I dismissed him, and he strolled out, whistling all the while. I quickly shut the door and leaned against it, sighing exasperatedly. I placed my hand over my heart, which beat to the song of exhilaration. I sucked in a breath and brought the fire back into my heart, wincing slightly. "I gotta keep my head cool, or this shit is just going to get worse."
By the fifth villain I made note of the sun beyond the clouds, just beginning to cusp the middle of the day. The police thanked me for my service, and I smiled at them warmly, patted their backs and answered a few of their questions. I stretched my back and looked towards the west, where the docks were. I guess it was time to figure out what they wanted from me.
I flew towards the docks and felt my eyebrows squish together. The waves were big and choppy today, and the rain was getting heavier. My wings were slower than they were usually, but I could still keep it up. Behind a stack of boxes were my two boys of burns and wings, and I landed beside them. They backed away from me as I slowly stood up and twisted my back. I placed my hands on my hips and tilted my head to the side. "You called?"
Dabi smirked at my arrival and took me in. I felt heat spiral up my body but I ignored the sensation. What was it with me? These boys were making me lose it. "Glad to see you could make it, Sun Keeper. I was just discussing with Hawks our next stage," he said, and Hawks turned towards me with his mouth open.
"You see-"
A scream rang through the docks, and my eyes widened. I looked to Hawks before nodding, and in time we shot up into the air. We landed at the source of the scream but before I could ask her what happened, I looked up. My stomach dropped and twisted as a roar split through the air, rumbling the docks and the ocean alike. Ever so slowly, a gigantic beast rose itself from the depths of the ocean, it's snake like features slowly unfurling itself from the blanket of water it was submerged in. My heart thundered in my chest, my limbs completely frozen as it rose and faced the city, the waves crashing against the harbour.
Hawks whistled, but his eyes were wide in shock. "I didn't expect to see the villain Leviathan around here, this is bad news, Sunny."
I closed my eyes and whispered softly, "Fuck me gently, and then fuck me very hard." It was the Leviathan.
