+ Do not fall in love +

We walked into the small room where Enola had been staying for the past weeks.

Before we left with her we made sure to get our clothes, and paintings.

"Is this how you're living?" I asked, looking around.

The room looked old. Dusty. The wooden floor underneath creaking. The bed looked old too.

"Did you guys rent a room at the ritz?"

"We afforded ourselves a shade more comfort than this." He responded, standing next to me.

Enola opening the window to let the air in.

"Well, the woman I boarded off assured me this was a fine room."

"Mmm." He said, inspecting the room.

"It seems like the woman you boarded off lied." I told her.

Tewksbury looked around the room and spotted her panties.

They were sitting on the top of a chair. A small awkward silence filled the room.

She quickly walked over to them and hid them in the wooden aqua colored closet.

"I have but a single bed, So both of you'll have to sleep on the floor." She finally spoke.

We looked at each other. [Tewksbury and Veronica]

She walked towards the bed and fixed it. He placed his jacket on the bed making it creak a little bit.

"You keep old newspapers?" He asked her, grabbing the newspapers that were on top of her bed.

"Be careful with that. I haven't finished reading it yet." She informed him.

He sat down. I walked over to him, to see the newspaper.

"Oh we are in this one" I pointed at our pictures.

"So you are." She said walking around the room.

He closed the newspaper and gently placing it on the bed.

"Why do you keep these old newspapers?" I looked at her waiting for an answer.

She looked at us. "My mother. I'm waiting for her to leave me a message... she hasn't yet"

"Message? What?..." he asked confused.

"She likes ciphers."

I'm guessing he wasn't aware of the meaning either.

"Coded messages that need to be deciphered."
I nodded in understanding. She sat next to me. The three of us sitting on the bed.

"And why would she leave you a message?" He asked. I looked at her waiting for her answer.

"Because she has left me" she responded, looking down at her fingers. "And i thought she meant for me to find her, but I'm not sure she did now. So I left her a message in hopes of her reply." She grabbed the newspaper from the bed. "I keep the newspapers to check."

This made much more sense now.

I grabbed the newspapers there was about twenty. We sat in silence. I was about to place the newspaper's back on the bed but I accidentally dropped them.

"Oh sorry" i apologize bending down to grab them from the floor.

Tewksbury was About to bend down to help me "I got it." I told him.

Enola chuckled "it's quite alright."

I put them on the counter instead of the bed. I looked back at Tewksbury and Enola. They had already been looking at me. I smiled.

He looked straight into my eyes. A smile on his face. He was falling wasn't he?

"Don't look at me like that." I told him. The smile fading from my face. I don't want him to catch feelings. I don't want him to catch feelings for me.

"I'm sorry." He apologized. He got the hint. Enola had been looking at us the whole time.

"I don't want your pity, Tewksbury." I didn't want to catch feelings either. I knew I would, if I let myself. But I didn't want to. And not with him. He's a lovely boy, but not now, not ever.

He looked at me. I could see the sadness is his eyes.

I walked towards the window. I could feel the awkwardness.

I turned around. His eyes fixed on mine "if you don't stop looking at me like that Viscount Irritation, Marquess of Bothersomeshire, ill murder you myself!"

He quickly looked away. I can't. He can't.
I wanted too but I had only known him for a few weeks. And the thought of catching feelings and love scared me.

"People don't seem to want us, do they?" He asked Enola, trying to brake the awkwardness and change the subject.

More silence filled the room. Great i have made things weird between all of us

"No..." she said looking at both of us. Confused.

More silence filled the room.

"Still, at least we've got each other." He looked directly into my eyes when he said that. I looked away.

"I'll make some tea." Said Enola trying to keep out of this. Good for her.

So... their is something in the air 🧍🏽‍♀️. I dunno what to say but comment. 💃🕺
