3rd POV

Breath usually warm couldn't give the comfort as it normally would, the eerie noises that echo throughout. Scratching on a paper, gentle but one may never know what the contents used to be.

The quick clattering of shoes echoed, making a stop at a certain door.

Two knocks.

"State name and business."

A cold voice boomed.

"Captain Istuki, report from fire nation waters."

"Come in."

The door creaked open slowly, making an unwelcoming sound.

"Greetings, General Y/n. It is good to see you again."

"I wish I could say the same, but you have returned from your mission earlier then I ordered. Why is that."

"W-W-Well uhh.."

The captain did not finish his sentence, as he was looking at you in all your glory. With short hair and a bun to show your loyalty, a classic general uniform and scars littering your hands, neck and a few on your face. Cold eyes boring into his head. In the last few years you swiftly ranked up, as now you're one of the best generals the fire nation has to offer. You even bested your sensei, commander Zhao.

"I do not have time for your nervousness, continue speaking or you will be dismissed."

"Alright, I shall continue then."

"Please do."

"So as I said the report is about the fire nation naval, Prince Zuko and general Iroh have crossed the nation waters. Commander Zhao let them do this, as he followed them on their search for the avatar. After a few hours they arrived at Roku's temple and the fire sages had made an attempt to stop the avatar."

"Hmm. Please continue."

"One fire sage has been charged with treason as he helped the avatar contact avatar Roku. Not as expected but commander Zhao let the avatar and his companions escape."

"Please tell me more about said companions."

"They are a girl and a boy, both from the southern water tribe. It is expected they are siblings, thus if we manage to catch one of them it is highly possible the avatar and sibling come back to search for them."

"Alright, I would like you to describe the two as best as you can."

"May I ask why?"

"Sketching is a thing I managed to master besides fire bending, captain."

"Uhm.. okay. The girl, she's a beginner water bender. She has beautiful eye-"

"Keep on track captain, I don't need your love blinded description. Only the facts."

"Yes General, my apologies."

Your POV

I walked through the hall way, head up and chest puffed out.

It has been long since the report of Zuko- eh Prince Zuko, trespassing fire nation waters. In that time I had sent out a bounty for the avatar and his companions, went to meetings. Sent out a new battalion towards the earth kingdom.

I was heading towards the castle gardens where assumed Azula would there, to inform her I was going out. Done some digging into the past of the siblings the avatar is travelling with, I found out that their father had been fighting in the war. Sadly, not discovering his location but from one of his subordinates.

Turned out Azula was not in the gardens but at the docks, so naturally I went over there.

"Ah, Y/n. My dearest, what pleasure do I owe for you visiting me?"

Azula was busy ordering servants around, they were moving all sorts of things inside a ship that was probably leaving after sunset.

"I was actually planning on asking you if I could go out, but now I'm curious why is the ship being prepared?"

"I am going to visit some old friends, maybe you'd like to see them again. Feel free to join my dear."

I blushed a little at her use of words.

"Hmm, I'd love to. Someone should inform my second in command tho."

"I already prepared everything,

"How did you-?"

"Don't worry about it."

Azula pulled me by the waist and kissed my cheek. A few servants gasped and I started blushing furiously.

"I know you're rather interested in my brother, but I can't help wanting to compete for your affection too."

I wasn't sure if she meant it sarcastic, as she has quite the cruel nature. So I just let it slip to the back of my mind.

3rd pov

As the sun was setting you and Azula made way to the ship, turns out you were going to visit Ty Lee and Mai. Old friends from Azula when they attended the fire nation academy for girls, you did not often get to see them but calling them friends was still a thing you did.

"Princess Azula, your stance is amazing."

"I don't want it to be good. It has to be perfect!"

Azula was training with her lightning, her trainer was only praising her. Not giving any feedback.

'If you want one to learn dont only praise them dumbass.'

You thought, while grazing the scar on your neck. A constant reminder of how difficult training could be, luckily you did not have a teacher anymore because if you tried you could probably best Azula in an Agni Kai. If she didn't pull any dirty tricks ofcourse.

"Princess Azula-"

"No. You are dismissed unless you wish to be thrown into the ocean."

The trainer gulped in fear proceeded to salute the Princess and made way down the deck, Azula clicked her tongue in annoyance rolling her eyes towards the retreating figure.

"Y/n, spar with me."

"Ofcourse Princess Azula."

You were panting, so was Azula.

"Hmm? You've quite improved in the years General."

Azula looked up after her snarky remark. You had overpowered her already, pinning her to the ground.

"Princess, I clearly won this duel."

"Yeah yeah, now get up lazy bones."

Azula said with a sarcastic smile, you rolled your eyes and got off of her.

"I'll be heading towards my chambers, please excuse me Princess Azula."

"Ofcourse dear."

Azula winked when you turned around to leave.

'This is gonna be interesting.'
