Fourteen

I woke up curled on the bed a blanket coverng me. Something smelt amazing though.

I sat up and looked at Charlie who was siting next to me on a chair. "dinner is here," he smiled.

I looked over. It was a hamburger and fries. There was also a serving of lima beans and a small salad.

"I... I dont think I can eat all that," I said.

"i know, just try your best and I can save it for later," he said.

"You wont force me to eat it?" I asked.

"No Ashley deemed it not safe for you to be forced especially after that poisioning," he said.

"Whats in it?" i asked cautiously.

"Youre worried if I have posioned your food?"

"Not to be rude but i am actually scared to eat someone that I havent been seen made," I said.

"This is while grain bun with seads at the top, there is dairy free cheese, hamburger meat which is seasoned with steak seasoning. There is tomatoes, pickles and avocade and there are some pavkets of ketchup. The fries are seasoned with salt and pepper fried in olive oil. In the salad there is romaine lettuce, tomatos, dairy free cheese, and some crutons and ranch if youd like," he said.

"You know exactly whats in there?"

He nodded and handed me a peice of paper that had a list of every single ingredient  in my food.

I moved over to the desk and ate. It was wonderful.

"How come this is so good?  I thought the food would be mush,"

"We like to keep th... humans... alive." He said

"You sound so unsure,"

"You asked me to not say subjects, so humans is the word," he chuckled akwardly.

"Oh," was all I said.

I continued to eat. I actually ended up eating it all which surpised me as I didnt realize how hungry I actually was.

"Good?" He asked.

"Very," I replied.

It was 5:55 pm.

"Did everything go okay with the ct scan?" I asked.

"Yes, you do have a slightly enlarged liver but nothing too bad. Ashley is going to start you on some antibiotics as she said it seemed more of an infection," he said.

"And my endoscopy is tomorrow?"

"Yes," he said.

"Ashley is also taking you off zolofot and put you on lithium,"

"I dont like lithum," I said.

"You've been on it before?"

"Breifly for three weeks, then they took me off of it because it made me really sick."

"I'll let her know," he said.

I nodded and smiled a but then looked down. "What is there to do?" I asked him.

"Did you want to color?" He asked.

"I like coloring ad drawing," I saidthn looked down. "I had a whole bunch at home. Like real good nice art supplies," I whispered.

"Wait... wait I remmber michael saying at th begining thst people can call me annd I think he said even visitig. Can someone bring my art supplies from home?" I asked.

"I would have to get everything approved from Michael but I think he would allow it," he said. "I cant make any promises though,"

"I understad," I said.

He nodded, "but did you want to color? Or read? Or watch a movie?" He said.

"A movie would be nice," I smiled.

He went to the desk and out a list of movies. "You can choose whichever," He smiled.

I nodded and went through them. The Hunger Games? No. The Matrex? No. I didnt like any of the movies offered. I really just wanted something light hearted. Disney. "Any Disney movies?"

"Yes, though those are typically saved for the younger ages. Your higher age doesn't usually pick those movies."

"Well I want one," I said.

"Any in particular?"

"Umm Lilo and Stitch? The Little Mermaid? Winnie the Pooh? Aladdin?" I looked up at him.

He smiled at it. "Aladdin?" He asked.

"Yes," I smiled.

He nodded and opened the door talking quietly to the man outside. After a short moment he handed Charlie a laptop and a movie.

I smiled at it as he set it on the desk and turned on the movie. I curled up in the blankets. "Wanna sit by me?" I asked Charlie.

"Cant darling," he said.

"Oh yeah," I rolled my eyes at it.

He chuckled at it but I ignored it focusing on the movie not moving just enjoying it.

"Med pass," a female came in. It wasnt Ashley. She was human though.

"Thank you Amanda," Charlie said.

He handed me a plastic cup with three pills in it. "What are they?" I asked.

"Does it matter?" Amanda said.

I looked down tense not liking her.

"Amanda," Charlie warned.

"One is Lamictal, And two of them are Trazadone," she said.

"Whats the lamictal for?" I asked.

"Bipolar Disorder,"

"Bipolar?" I asked shocked.

"Yes its on your file," she sighs.

I took the pills and the water and looked down.

"Mouth?" She said.

I looked down uncomfortable with it.

"Amanda I have it from here."

She nodded and left.

"I dont like her," I said instantly.

"Shes just Ashley's replacement for next two nights," he said. "Shes just temporary."

"Was she a..."

"Yes," he sighs "but before that she was a nurse. So Michael offered her to stay here and work for them when needed and she will no longer get tested on," he said.

I nodded and looked down at it. "She acts..."

"Its the way she is expected to act. Ashley gets away with it because shes good and knows how to calm down everyone, typically" he said.

I nodded and sighed then looked down destracted. I curled up on my side and yawned.

I focused on the movie for awhile before I drifted off to another dreamless sleep.
