Cate Blanchett x Reader (Anxiety)

Y/n is Cates girlfriend and they are both attending the Oceans 8 movie premier. Y/n becomes anxious and has a panic attack.

Cate - "Hey y/n! Are you ready to go? The driver is waiting."

Y/n - "Okay honey I'll be down in a second."

Cates POV
I've noticed y/n has been very distance and on edge today. I think she's just stressed about the premier tonight because there will be a lot of people which she sometimes struggles with. My girlfriend means the world to me and I know how hard she tries to push herself in these situations as she desperately just wants to go to all my events. I love her dearly for this and she is clearly one of the braves and strongest women I know. I'm so grateful that I have her.

Y/n POV
I began to walk downstairs as the driver had arrived. I was terrified but I had to try and hid this from Cate as it was her big night and I didn't want to ruin it. She grabbed my hand and began to sooth me instantly knowing I was nervous. We got into the car and began to drive. I smuggled into her resting my head in the crook of her neck, she gently kissed the top of my head whilst her arm was around me pulling me close, as it ran up and down my arm calming me down. Cate knew exactly how to calm me down.

Cate POV

I could see y/n was tense as we sat in the car on the way to the premier. I knew she craved touch as that's what she missed out on as a child. The feeling of being close to someone was always something calming to her. I held her tight wishing I would never have to let go and as I did this I carefully ran my fingers up and down her arm creating Goosebumps but also helping her to relax and feel less tense. That when we arrived. The driver opened the door for us once I had signalled that we were read just after checking y/n was ready to leave. This was always a big deal for her as there was photographers everywhere and lots of noise.

We moved from the red carpet into the premier where the movie was playing. People were talking and drinking whilst watching the movie. I hated to watch myself but y/n seemed to enjoy it. After the movie the whole cast including directors moved back to the red carpet for interviews. I got pulled into a conversation with a presenter from a news station when I realised y/n had gone. This instantly filled me with panic as I had no idea where she had gone. I picked up my phone and rang her as I walked back inside away from everyone on the read carpet. There was no answer. That's when Sarah came running over to me.

Sarah's POV
I went into the bathroom to touch up my makeup when I heard sniffles. It was Cates girlfriend y/n. She seemed to be breathing heavily and was very distressed so I when over to comfort her then I ran to find Cate as I wasn't sure what to do. I reached Cate who seemed visibly stressed and told her where y/n was. She ran down the hallway into the bathrooms.

Y/n POV

I began to feel overwhelmed, there was so many people, so many cameras and so many questions. My whole head began to spin and I had to leave as quickly as possible. I made my way to the bathroom and sat on a couch. Whilst trying to regulate my breathing Sarah came in and then went to find Cate. Cate then came rushing in to hold me close. I held onto her hands and she rubbed the top of my hands with her thumbs and shushed me quietly.

"Honey what colour suit am I wearing?"

"B-B-B-Blue"

"Yes good girl honey"

"and what colour is my hair"

"B-Blonde"

"Hey baby what can you smell?" Cate pulled me in tight to her chest cradling and rocking me in my arms.

"Eh I-I can smell eh...your p-perfume"
"Great honey, I'm so proud of you, your safe now darling. I love you and I will never leave you."

"I love you Cate, thank you for everything"

Cates POV

Thank god Sarah found y/n and then came to get me. Y/n began to calm down and eventually her breathing returned to normal. We sat for a while then we called a taxi and left. All the girls where understanding of why we were leaving early and I was just glad I had y/n and that she was now safe and happy.
