"mom, its just a birthday. No alcohol and things like that" I pleadingly said to my mom just so she would allow me to go.
Its my friend's birthday. And I wanna go. But I doubt if my parents would allow me to.
To be honest, they don't need to worry. Im not that type of girl who'll get drunk and while. In fact, it's a formal party.
"still a no" mom said that made me frown.
"dad" I pleadingly said as well to my dad.
But not surprising. He just shook his head.
I felt defeated.
"mom, you know Ara's family. They're not like wah you think they are. Her family's one of your business partners, right?" I spoke.
My mom sighed.
"yeah, business partner. They are hard working and good in their job aside from the fact that they had been stealing money from the company. And I would entrust you to those kinds of people? Sorry Daphne but no" my mom said that left me in awe.

I got myphone and composed a message to Ara saying how badly I wanna come but sadly my parents didn't allow me to.
I stared blankly at the wall while waiting for her response. I was waiting for a text message but instead, a voice call is what I received.
I immediately answered it.
"Daphne, where are you?" Ara asked on the other line. And trust me. She looks drunk.

"Ara, I thought no parties and alcohol? " I asked when I saw her drunk and everything looks so chaotic on the phone.
"yeah, but I lied!" she answered drunk while laughing so hard.
"well, I can't come. Mom won't let me" I bitterly said.
"what? no you should come!" she said but umiling lang ako.
"no, I can't." I answered firmly.
"you can. Bakit ayaw mong tumakas?" Ara said which made me brow rise.
