*Back to Ashley's pov*

"Come on Ashley! It's the first weekend of the school year" Talia said slamming her locker shut. She had been pleading for the last seven minutes to go to Cassie's party she decided to announce about today morning. I never liked them when I wasn't 'pretty' so why should that changed now. It was gross how teenagers would get drunk and party, creating havoc and chaos, they called it enjoyment which I never understood. The 'popular' people started having these parties in eight grade and as more people knew about it and would go, the 'popular' people starting excluding all the (What they call them) geeks and nerds. It was pathetic seeing a nerd do Cassie's homework or buy them things just to go to a silly party of teens.

Never got the idea of it and never will.

"Ashley!" Talia said pulling me from my thoughts. "Come on let's go" she said looking at me with puppy eyes.

"I'm not stopping you from going, even though I'd prefer you didn't get into this sh!it" I said looking at the clock.

"I know you're not, but I'm asking you to come, for me" She said squeezing my hand

"Talia, ok maybe would've come for you but, I don't even think my mom will allow me, I mean it would've taken a lot of effort to convince her in the first place and now after yesterday's scolding I've got no chance...unless like a miracle happens or something" I sighed, I wasn't lying maybe I would've gone just for Talia, but it'll be impossible to convince mom.

Talia thought for a moment tapping her chin.

"Then don't tell her Ashley we'll say we're working on an assignment at my house" she said her face lighting up.

"I won't be able to finish cleaning the attic if I come home late though, I'll be too tired" So I guess I was just making excuses now, but it was still true I wouldn't be able to finish cleaning to huge attics this weekend if I come home at two and then have to get up at seven again.

Talia crossed her arms looking upset and thought of how that could work.

"We can clean the attic today"

I looked behind me and Bryan was leaning against a locker. I raised my eyebrow "And why on earth would you do that?" I said putting my hands on my hips.

"I'm just trying to help" He said like he genuinely meant it. I was really suspicious, I mean he most probably wanted payback for all those scratches now on his window. He rolled his eyes "If you decide to accept the offer then be in your house's attic at 4" saying that he strolled off.

I turned around and Talia had a surprised expression on her face "Well that's new"

"Tell me about it, since when did he ever want to help"

******

I was sitting on my terrace at 3:47pm.

Am I going to be in trouble if he helps me? Does he even want to help me?

Some people would think I'm being dramatic, but last time Bryan was nice was when he had to keep me busy while Ben put slime all over my desk, He'd payed Ben thirty bucks for that stunt.

I had been having a conflict in my head for a couple minute then when there were just two minutes before the clock would strike 4 o'clock, I decided to take the chance and go.

----

I climbed up to the attic and closed the door to the attic just so mom wouldn't find out that we were cleaning today. I looked around the attic and didn't see Bryan, Great this was just another silly trick. I bent down to open the door when it suddenly opened from the other side and in came Bryan.

"Wow you actually came" I was genuinely surprised he showed up.

"Yeah well I had to bribe Jack not to tell anyone I was here, after he saw me going up the stairs to the lounge." He said out of breath.

"Then lets get to work" I said tying my hair up into a ponytail.

*********

We had been cleaning and filling boxes with junk for the past hour and decided to sit on the floor cushions for a short break.

Bryan lay on his back while I crossed my legs over one another.

"Why do they even have so much trash up here in the first place" Bryan said looking up at the ceiling.

"I know right, I never even knew about this attic until a year ago" I exclaimed

We stayed quiet for a while catching our breaths and resting on the old cushions.

I was still not sure about one thing and not knowing the answer was getting to me, I sat up and cleared my throat before speaking "Um so why are you helping me...why are you being so..." He looked at me "...so nice?"

He sat up against the wall and said "Because...maybe... I feel a little guilt about how I greeted you this summer and how you can't go on you're date this weekend" He looked away and focused his attention on the old teapot set in the corner.

"Well thank you, but are you seriously just helping me because of feeling guilty...no favors or anything?" I asked shifting in my seat.

He started smirking, that's when I knew there was a favor coming "Yeah okay I guess I need you to do me a favor...but it's not bad all you have to do is tell your mom that I'm doing a group study with you, Talia, and Matt over at Talia's" he said looking back at me. I forgot how he couldn't go to the party either and of course he was invited. I was expecting something more difficult, but I'm not complaining.

"Alright, but you're taking me to the party because I'm not driving" I pointed my finger at him

"Oh heck yeah you aren't" He laughed

"Good then we're done here" I was getting up when he pulled my hand.

"Wait I'm not finished" He said, I sat back down and waited for him to speak again.

"Ashley. We've been enemies ever since I can recall and, well it's cost us a lot, but now it'll cost us more than just cleaning up a desk of slime or doing the laundry for a month." he said he kept glancing at the teapot while talking. "So I think what if we see what happens when we don't hate eachother, but have each other's backs?" He finally stopped looking somewhere else and waited for me to respond. This was shocking, but than I thought about how better life would be if I didn't have to always watch out for Bryan's pranks and didn't have to think of ways to get back at him.

A world without the Ashley-Bryan fights and pranks seemed nice. So I thought  might as well give it a shot.

"Ok Bryan let's try being friends and see how it goes"

We shook hands and decided we could do the other half of the attic on Saturday as well as the other one.

Tomorrow sure was gonna be a new day, a great one or a bad one, was what I was worried about.

Short chapter, but good. They've decided to stop the fights! Do you guys think this was the right thing to do?
