The rest of the holidays went by pretty quickly as to how I just lay on the sofa all day and waited for my foot to heal, Bryan came by a couple times, but I would pretend to be sleeping.
It was finally the morning of school. After I got ready, I texted Bryan that he didn't have to wait for me and that I'd be going by the bus to school. He didn't agree at first, but when I wouldn't change my decision he had no choice.
I hopped on the bus, which was filled with people and then had to walk a couple minutes to reach the school. I had no idea it would take that long and had skipped half of the first period, luckily Bryan wasn't in that class so he wouldn't find out (hopefully).
*********
I went out of the the last class before lunch and now was dreading walking back to the bus stop a couple hours later again. I would've asked Talia, but it can't become a daily thing since she lives so far.
I threw my books in my locker and taking out my phone to text my Mom and ask her, I'd obviously have to make up an excuse why Bryan couldn't, but that was the least of my problems right now.
"Why were you late to class?" I heard someone say behind me, I turned around and saw Luke standing there with a genuinely questioning look.
"Oh, I miscalculated how long it would take for me to get here with the bus" I said sending Mom the text.
"I thought Bryan drove you?" Luke asked confused
"He was driving me, but...I mean it gets really annoying, as how we're neighbors and meet eachother pretty often, so then everyday before and after school....it can be way to much contact with one person." I tried to come up with a convincing reason, and to my surprise he was buying it.
"Yeah I get it. But if you want...I pass by your place while going to school...so I could.." His voice trailed off, my eyes lit up at his offer.
"Oh really!...I mean are you sure?" I asked containing my excitement.
"Yeah of course, I don't mind" He said smiling slyly, and then I lost it, I was so happy I didn't have to take the bus to and from school and this...angel had made my life so much easier.
"Oh my god! Thank you so much!!!" I shouted hugging him, then as I did I realized how weird it was and stepped back biting my lip in embarrassment. Bryan would always get distracted by me biting my lip, which I never really understood, it never looked that attractive to me, more like a sign of someone regretting saying or doing something.
Oh my god why and I thinking of Bryan! I facepalmed myself in mind.
"Um, well then I guess see you after school" Luke said waving.
"Yeah" I said and waved back going to lunch.
*************
"You should have asked me for a ride!" Talia said looking upset.
We were sitting in the gazebo eating lunch, so we could have some quiet and peace, and for the first time Leo agreed to let her have a quiet lunch with me.
"I know you wouldn't say no, even though you'd have to wake up extra early just so we both aren't late for school, but I can't do that to you" I said rolling my eyes at how she felt like I was offending her.
"Well..." She said, we both knew it would be dumb. "But are you sure?" she asked with a concerned look.
"Duh, it's way too far" I said sighing
"No, I mean... are you sure you don't like Bryan" She asked hesitantly.
"Yes, I am. It was just puberty...Bryan and I are...too different, besides he's not my type" I said reassuring her...and maybe myself too.
"Ok Ash" She said "So then who is your type" She teased. I thought about that one, I guess someone nice and funny, someone I could talk to for hours and still not be bored.
"I don't know" I said, I saw a smile crawling up Talia's face.
"Are you sure?" She asked, I nodded
"Hmmm, I caught Luke staring at you multiple times" She said, playing with her food.
"Ha-ha-ha" I said rolling my eyes.
"Think about it, we could finally go on a double date" She whispered looking around as if it was a top secret, I laughed. Luke was nice, but I couldn't see myself having a thing for him, and I don't think he likes me either.
Oooh so Ashley really has decided she doesn't like Bryan, what do you think Bryan's reaction is to this? Do you guys want his pov on this?
