eight girls (Hogwarts life) ( short stories )

Iris Tate John , fourth year

4th year

Like always butler Jones drops me off but this year I was going to sit in the same compartment as Aditi and Ichika. once we were seated all the girls talked about was the triwizard tournament I thought to myself how I would like to take part in it but I am not old enough. the girls had left as they had spotted some of their friends and they left me. I looked out the window daydreaming that I didn't know people had come into the compartment I looked from the corner of my eye a girl I think her name is Pansy Parkinson and next to her sat Draco Malfoy and I could feel someone sat next to me I think its a boy his name unknown to me though. Before I got caught looking at them I moved my eyes back to looking out the window. My heart was pounding and my whole body was tense and I could not go back to my daydream world but I kept looking out the window not wanting to look at them. Finally the train stopped and they got out I had a view of the boy who was sat next to me. Time went by when we were allowed to wear our own clothes I would always wear that jumper from last years Christmas. one day when I was wearing the jumper a boy came up to me saying that he liked it and that it suited me I smiled at him and said thank you and turned my head away but he grabbed my arm turning me around "we have met before on the train , I am Blaise Zabini ." He let go of my arm making the hand open to shake "nice to meet you , I am Iris John." he smiled "I know ." I was taken back and my eyes went wide all he did was start laughing  at me "would you like to go with me to the yule ball ?" he asked not showing any ounce of nervousness or any emotion , I just stared at him "well its not like you will get anyone better or your little crush Draco, heard he's going with Pansy Parkinson." I looked at him shocked and confused , I can't believe that he thinks no one else will ask me "so you think no one else will ask me ?" he smiled and nodded his head proudly "its the day of the yule ball and have you been asked or have a date?" I lowered my gaze and opened and closed my mouth hoping something smart will come out "didn't think so , so how about I meet you in the common room yeah , amazing , bye !" "oh by the way I am thinking of wear a black tie , just if you want to match !" he walked off backwards so he was facing me the whole time , I crossed my arms rolled my eyes and a little smile played on my lips. It  was now time for the yule ball as it begins in 2 hours . I had a quick shower and did my hair up and put some cute makeup on than I got my dress out my wardrobe , it is a black figure hugging and off the shoulders , a dress my family would defiantly not like or approve of I paired it with some black sparkly heals than went off to the common room to be greeted with a proud Blaise who wore a smug face.  ,  ,  ,  , 
once we got to the ball it was bustling with people . I soon lost my wonderful date , so I walked over to the drinks table and picked up a ball glass with a hole in the top just big enough for the straw that was in it . the drink was a deep shade of purple that glittered gold and tasted of chocolate. ( closes I could get to the description)
I saw Blaise running after a girl I believe she's in the year above not to sure on the name though. I also saw Draco with Pansy clinging on to his arm as he looked else where and the look on his face made me believe that he would love to be anywhere but here right now all i thought to that was same. after a drink and a half I wanted some fresh air so I went out into the field heading towards the owlery , when I tripped over something and spilt the rest of my drink . I sat up holding the newly empty glass and nearly started to cry. nearly as I stopped myself when I heard someone laugh I looked up with venom in my eyes to see a smiling Draco one that I've haven't see in a while "what do you want ? your show is over now!" I spat out surprising myself I looked back down at the empty glass and shook my head and whispered to it "why do you have to tastes of chocolate , because of you I am saying things uh" this made Draco laugh harder than before "oh god you must of had one to many." he said through a smile. I wiped my head back up to look at him to find him sitting himself down on the grass next to me "aren't you worried to get your suit dirty ?" I asked with a smirk on my face "afraid not snowy , I can always get a new one."(  )
we sat there for hours and most of it was spent in silence but we also talked a bit. I quite liked that night I don't want to admit it but it was the best night so far at Hogwarts and now when ever I daydream my mind always wonders to that night. a blissful smile spread on my lips as I tucked myself into bed and fell peacefully asleep a first time in a long time.
