ADAM

I was surprised that Hazel said yes to a date, after the day she'd had according to what Jesse told me earlier, I thought she'd lock herself away and hide. It was a low blow for the hunters to go after one of her best friends but why Derek was so upfront in telling Hazel that he knew she was a werewolf surprised me. Matt suggested that maybe Derek wanted Hazel to know before he killed her, some hunter code or something. Either way tonight she needed to know the truth and know that she wasn't going crazy.

One thing that had the rest of the guys scratching their heads was when Jesse stated Hazel had purple eyes instead of normal yellow when she half shifted in front of Derek. James said that maybe Jesse saw them wrong since she was wearing sunglasses but I'd known Jesse long enough to trust his judgement. I made a promise to the guys to confirm the purple eyes before we went any further. I knew Hazel was special but not this special, I sure knew how to pick them.

I pulled up outside Hazel's apartment complex just before 7pm and I was taken aback by the rough neighbourhood she lived in. Why did a college student choose to live here? Hazel seemed like she had enough to live somewhere nicer but then again who was I to judge. Just because I was a celebrity and had a lot of money to splash around didn't mean that everyone else had the same luxury. Hopefully once Hazel was part of the pack I could get her away from this place and into the house with the rest of the pack. I just had to persuade her that she needed me to help her get through this change in her life. She also needed protection from the hunters who were already likely to trail her after the confrontation with Derek earlier.

I threw my leather jacket on and climbed out of my car. I made my way up the stairs to apartment 3B; Mickey had been able to get the address through her college records. It never ceased to surprise me what you could find on the internet with a click of a single button. I knocked on her door and didn't have to wait long before it opened and Hazel popped her around the door.

'Hi Adam, sorry I'll unlock the door. You can never be too sure in this neighbourhood who's knocking on your door at night.'

I chuckled as she shut the door and I heard the lock slide across. I was right about this neighbourhood being dodgy. The door swung open and I got my first glimpse of Hazel in full, she was breathtaking and the beast inside me growled in approval. Her hair had been curled but it was more natural beach waves which made it look longer, I just wanted to run my hands through it as I pinned her under me and made love to her. Ironically she wore a purple and black maxi dress, it was a darker shade of purple then Jesse described her eyes. She suited purple, it complimented her naturally tanned skin tone and smokey eye makeup, she looked good enough to eat.

'You look ravishing tonight Hazel.'

She blushed and bowed her head; I stepped inside and cupped her chin in my hand before bringing her head up so our eyes met. She bit her lip which turned me on.

'You don't need to hide your beauty from me Hazel; you never need to hide from me, maybe other men but not me.'

She smiled and I released her chin. She tilted her head to the side and her eyes trailed up and down my body as she checked me out, damn I had to restrain myself from keeping my hands and lips off of her.

'You don't look to bad yourself Mr Levine.'

I chuckled deep in my throat and offered my arm like a gentleman which she accepted. With her free hand she scooped up her purse and we left her apartment. I opened the passenger door of the car and she slid in thanking me. How was I supposed to be in close confines with this girl who drove me crazy?

HAZEL

Adam freaking Levine was taking me on a date. I was in his car cruising through downtown LA traffic. The radio was playing in the background but the volume was low and it was pleasant. Adam hummed along to the songs and tapped his fingers on the wheel while I sat back and observed him. He was truly a beautiful specimen of man.
