Everyday is basically the same routine. I go to school, I do homework, and then I go to sleep. It's like a dream that replays over and over again. I'll I want to do is live a little but that can't happen in mystic falls. Mystic Falls is something most people never escape. My parents were hunters for the supernatural and taught me everything. They taught me to hate them and kill them. I grew up with discipline and I sacrificed. One day my parents went on a mission but only one parent came back. They found my mother bled dry and you could only guess who could've done that. I'll skip the gory details. But anyway I'm Brooklyn Gordon, a rookie vampire hunter. Welcome to my life.

BEEP BEEP BEEP
My alarm went off like I set it. This day was going to be like every other day. My dad is still off on some mission and as the only child it gets pretty lonely. Although, it's not so bad after all. I have my best friends Caroline, Bonnie, and Elena. They keep me company most of the time, especially Elena. Her aunt Jenna is really cool with just letting Elena come over or me crash at their place.           I've always appreciated Aunt Jenna and she is basically my family I hold dear.
Elena is also my ride to school every morning so we can chat about anything we need to get off our chests. Like this morning, she's coming to pick me up which always makes me happy.
As I eat an apple for breakfast, I hear the doorbell ring throughout my fair size house. I quickly throw away the core and hurry to answer the impatient door. I smile excitedly looking at Elena but my smile fades as I look to whose beside her. Her boyfriend Stefan and I don't get along much. It's not that he doesn't like me, it's just that I don't have very warm feelings towards him. He seemed nice to me but he was always hiding something. I could sense whenever someone was lying to me. It always angered me as well.
"Hey guys," I said, keeping my composure.
Elena hugs me as Stefan just gives me a slight smile, as his greeting. Since we were already a tad late for school, we decided to cut the conversation short and hurry into the car.
I sit in the back with Stefan driving and Elena riding shotgun, picking all the good songs. Elena and I conversed as Stefan rode quietly. He never swerved and never lost focus of the road, his reflexes were almost inhuman. It seemed to not occur to Elena that Stefan always is quiet and keeps to himself a lot. I knew there was something about him, almost like he was keeping some secret. He didn't scare me, but made me worry for my friends. There were certain mannerisms that made me get the willy's. I didn't want Elena to get hurt mentally or physically which is why I kept my guard up. Caroline is usually the one who picks the questionable men. I always gave Elena more credit when it came to picking a boyfriend. I loved her and Matty together, but she just was not in love with him. She's different with Stefan. A halt snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked out the window to see we were here.
Stefan parked as close to the school as he could get since we were a little late. I saw Caroline and Bonnie standing by the water fountain in front of school. Elena was talking to Stefan. Something about a date night and a get away trip to clear their thoughts since they had been stressed recently. About what, I'm not sure. Like I said, they always kept to themselves. I decided to make my way to my other friends. They waved to me happy to see me on a Friday. Everyone just wanted the weekend to come.
"Hey Brookie!" Caroline shouted. They gave me a quick hug and looked behind me. I was curious to see what they were looking at and followed their gaze. I followed their eyes to see them glued to Elena and Stefan. Seeing their disgust towards the happy couple, I could tell they were not fans. None of us really were, Caroline for different reasons. She had the biggest crush on Stefan and was terribly hurt that he chose Elena.
"Wow, You guys don't like them together do you?" I ask already knowing the answer.
Bonnie and I didn't like him because we knew there was something off about the Salvatore. At least I had one friend on my side when it came to Stefan.
"Well I don't like them together. I just don't see it," Caroline says all catty.
Bonnie rolls her eyes.
"I just think he's not right," she states.
"Not right for her?" Caroline questions Bonnie.
Bonnie shakes her head.
"No. There's something not right with him."
Caroline frowns as she tries to think about what Bonnie is talking about, obviously not understanding why we don't Like him. I decided to back Bonnie up, knowing we were both right about the suspicious man dating our friend.
"I agree with you Bon. He's just... weird."
The first bell rings and I realize we don't have much more time to get to our classes. I hurry up and run to my locker to get my stuff, thinking about my Father and the odd couple.
