Finding Ray was so tiring. Ray was a wolf we were searching for that was the key to a wolf pack. A pack where Klaus can start his army. We were driving up to the house where Ray was supposedly. I was hoping we'd never find him but I was kind of hoping we would be done with this. I wanted nothing more than to be free from Klaus' control. Even if that mean't getting killed for Elena's exposure.
We pulled up to the nice house and saw the lights on which made my stomach drop. Lights on mean't people were home. I saw my brother grin with anticipation and eagerness to kill. The look was so evil that it sent shivers down my spine and I've seen about everything.
We came to a stop and Klaus got out of the car.
"Brooklyn, I need you to get in there and ask to use the phone, leave the rest for us."
I had a scowl on my face, not wanting to put innocent people in harms way.
"I don't have a choice do I?" I asked already knowing the dreadful answer.
Klaus smirked in a twisted way that would make the devil scream and run in terror.
"Monster," I said under my breath as I walked up to the house.
Every step felt like forever as I came closer and closer to the bright house that would bring me another step closer to becoming exposed. I walked up the white porch and knocked on the wooden door that separated me from the people inside.
A beautiful woman in her early twenties answered the door with a happy smile that would soon turn into a fearful frown.
"Can I help you?" She asked. It felt like it took forever to snap out of my thoughts and answer the kind woman.
"Yes, I need to use a phone."
I stuttered a bit as she looked confused as to why.
"'My car broke down a couple miles back."
She looked at me in suspicion and I knew that she knew Ray or at least was smart enough not to let a stranger into her house.
"Sure come on in."
Just as she was about to open the door, Chris walked up to the porch leaving the woman confused.
"This is my brother."
The woman looked at him for a while before she said something.
"Sure, come in," she said again.
He smiled like Klaus and walked in.
Klaus was right behind him.
"Hello loves, anyone know of a man named Ray?" He asked.
The women froze in fear and tried to snap out of it but it was clear on their frightful faces that they were caught.
"We don't know anyone by the name of Ray."
Klaus chuckled and I was scared for the women who tried to trick him but would fail.
"Don't lie to me."
The women looked at each other then ran for it. Klaus chased after one of the women and held her by her neck, stopping the other woman in her tracks.
"Don't hurt her."
He laughed.
"Then you shouldn't have run, Now tell me, where is Ray?" He asks.
She doesn't speak in which Klaus starts to choke the hopeless woman in his hands.
"Stop!" I screamed.
He didn't stop of course and kept choking her.
"Wait!" The hopeless woman screamed to save her friend.
Klaus stopped and released her a bit.
"We don't know where he is," She said.
Klaus got angry again.
"Wrong answer."
The women started to squirm in fear and desperation as Chris started walking towards them.
I ran in front of the women in an act of bravery.
"They don't know anything!" I screamed at Klaus and Chris.
"That's the issue," Klaus states calmly. I could tell he was about to explode in anger but still couldn't bear him to end another life. Most importantly, I couldn't bear the fact that I helped him kill another which is just as bad.
"They are innocent, Klaus. Just because they don't know, doesn't mean they deserve to die."
"I don't care, Brooklyn! Be careful or you'll join them."
I started to laugh. I mean not just giggling but full out dying of laughter.
"You think I care! My life is basically over. You took everything from me! My best friends, my boyfriend, the closest thing I had to a mother, and my home!" I screamed.
He looked at me once before turning around.
"Kill the two women."
I started to have tears roll down my red cheeks which almost cooked them down a bit.
"Move out of the way, Brooklyn."
I slowly moved around Chris and walked out of the house, listening to the screams of the defenseless and innocent. My sobs started to zone out the cries of pain and I started to only hear mine.
I stared to pass the car and walked down the road only to hear Klaus' protests.
"Where do you think you're going?" I didn't answer him but instead told him what I was going to do and not even he could control me.
"I'm going for a walk. I'll be back."
It was tempting not to come back but I knew that if I were not to, he might kill Damon.
     This new life sucked.
