Traveling with Klaus was never a bore. He would tell me stories about his life and the craziest things he's ever done. He loves the twenties especially. I guess Stefan was there too and I can tell Klaus cares about him in some sick , twisted way.
"So let me get this straight, you and Stefan were buddies."
Klaus smirked at me answering my question.
"No way! No wonder he's messed up with blood."
Klaus laughed instead of getting angry like he would in Mystic Falls. We were driving through New York and we decided to visit the big apple. This was okay but it was a reminder of my past. Klaus
didn't know this is where I grew up and lost my mother but I was going to keep this quiet. No need to ruin a perfectly good evening.
Klaus pulled into some sketchy parking lot and I looked at him confused. He got out and opened the car door for me.
"Sorry love, just thought I'd take care of some business while we're here."
He held me so close our sides were touching and I knew we were in a dangerous situation.
Suddenly, my pocket vibrated for the 100th time and I knew it was Damon. I could the occasional voice mail from Elena but Damon was constant. I wasn't with him anymore nor did I wish to speak to him. Klaus helped with my hurt.
"Is it him again?" Klaus asked.
I nodded my head and gave him a sad smile as I looked at the caller I.D. Klaus took the phone and answered it.Damon's P.O.V.
I called Brooklyn for 100th time today. I couldn't stop thinking about last night and the things she confessed. I mean why would her brother do something like that? I should've known something was off about him. Also her virginity? I had no idea. It just makes me feel twice as bad.
Finally the she answered the phone.
"Brooklyn, I am-"
"Save it mate."
No.
"I know you're expecting Brooklyn but here I am."
"What have you done with her?" I ask angrily.
"What have I done? Brooklyn invited me. We're just enjoying ourselves until the full moon."
No. He's lying.
"We are trying to enjoy ourselves so I would very much appreciate your calls reduced to a minimum."
"I swear if you hurt her , I will-"
"You'll what? You already hurt her more than I could ever possibly try. I will end you if you call here again."
Just then the call ended and I threw my phone to the wall in anger.
I was breathing heavily trying to calm myself down but it wasn't helping.
"What happened to you?" Elena asked standing in the door way with Stefan. They were obviously keeping their distance away from me. Smart on their part.
"If you must know, Brooklyn and I broke up."
The two seemed confused and I didn't want to explain anything to them.
"What are you talking about?"
I growled at her and Stefan pulled her behind him, earning me a glare.
"Rose and I, we got a little cozy last night."
Stefan started to get angry and that just made me enraged. He had no right to get angry about my relationship.
"What did you do, Damon?!" He growled.
"We kissed."
Stefan looked angry but he didn't even know the whole story. If Brooklyn, hadn't stopped us, I don't know what would have happened.
"What else?" Stefan asked not believing me.
"Brooklyn stopped us before we could get anywhere else."
Elena looked at me, enraged that I broke her best friend's heart.
"You deserve everything you're getting," she said.
I started to walk to her but Stefan stopped me.
"Why do you care so much, Stefan?" I asked curiously.
"She's my friend."
"I'm sure. Why don't you worry about your girlfriend and I'll worry about mine."
Elena pushed us apart and the only thing that kept me from ripping her head off was Brooklyn.
"Calm down, come on Stefan."
They left me alone to stew in my loneliness and emptiness.Brooklyn's P.O.V.
Klaus and I walked into this building with a couple of guys and a woman at the bar. I felt myself get tense which earned a kiss on the forehead from Klaus making me blush.
"Well, if it isn't Klaus. Last time I saw you was 1983. What can I do for you?" A man asked. He kept staring at me as if I were a piece of food. Klaus seemed to notice and glared at the man making him stop.
"Mate, let us get one thing straight. You touch her, I will rip your head off."
The guy stopped smirking and looked scared. It was actually pretty entertaining.
"What can I do for you?" He asked.
"As you know, the sacrifice is coming and I need an elixir. The elixir that will save a life."
The guy looks at me again and then he knows. He goes behind the bar and reaches into a cabinet. He pulls out a clear liquid with a label on it.
"Thanks mate."
Klaus takes the elixir and puts it in his big coat pocket. The man looks at me on his way out and I just ignore him.
"Klaus?"
"Yes love?"
"That guy gives me the creeps."
Klaus grinned.
"Don't worry love. He's not stupid enough to hurt you."
We started driving to New York City and we could already see it. The city was becoming bigger and bigger until we were finally driving through it. The screens and lights were just how I remember it. Klaus stared at me, admiring my curiosity.
"They're really beautiful."
"Not as beautiful as you."
I laugh and just shake my head. I was never any good at compliments and usually just turned red. We drove and parked in a garage then walked into a building. We walked through a hall way until we reached a door called D7. Klaus used a key and opened the door revealing a beautiful loft. One side of the wall was glass and it overlooked most of the city. The others were brick. The floor was hardwood and the furniture was antique as was the building.
"How old is this place?" I asked.
"Built about 1899. I've had this place since 1943. Thanks to some people I know, it's been in almost perfect condition."
Klaus pours me a glass of wine and one for himself.
"What do you say we have night to ourselves."
I looked at him confused and he almost burst out laughing.
"Not like that although I wouldn't object."
We both burst out laughing getting ready for a night of fun.
