Chapter 5

Andy's 15 Weeks and 6 Days... This morning, Andy texted Vic and Lucas and asked them to come over to the townhouse. So, they came over together.

Conversation... Vic: Andy, what's going on? Andy: Lucas, you always say I should tell the team. What do you both think? Vic: Andy, you should. Andy: Why? You guys hate Robert. Vic: Andy, we will still support you. Lucas: Every if they don't support you, we will support you. Andy: Okay. Lucas: When you're ready to tell them, we will be there for you. Vic: However, you're developing a belly. Andy: I'm not ready, quite yet, but thank you, guys. Vic: You're welcome. We're both here if you need us. Andy: Okay. Will you guys go to the baby store with me? Lucas: Sure. Vic: Definitely. When? Andy: After the next shift? Both: Okay.: End of Conversation After that, they hang out for a while, and then Vic and Lucas went home.

Andy's 16 Weeks and 2 Days... After the shift finishes, everyone went home for a couple of hours. Lucas and Vic picked Andy up at her townhouse, and they all went to the baby store. They got there about ten in the morning. When they all went inside, they all got overwhelmed.

Conversation... Andy: I've started by baby registry online, but it's so overwhelming. I need help. Can you help me? Vic: Sure. Lucas: It's like a five-alarm fire. Let's strategize We do department by department. We'll save clothing for last. Andy: Okay. (When Lucas started talking like that, Andy felt less stressed. They went department by department, and by the end, it felt easier. They spent the most time in the clothing and carseat and stroller department.) Andy: Thank you, guys. This was less stressful with you guys. Lucas: You're welcome. Vic: Can we grab dinner together? Andy: Sure. Lucas: Diner? Vic: Sure. Andy: Diner? Vic: Yes, they have amazing food. There's also an amazing story behind the diner. Andy: Okay.: End of Conversation After that, they went out to dinner, and they just talked. They left the baby store around six in the evening, and Andy got home about eight in the evening.

When Lucas and Vic got home, they had a conversation about Andy and the baby. Conversation... Vic: Lucas, can we get the travel system off her registry? Lucas: Yes, we can, and possibly her dresser next month. Vic: Okay. Are we going to get most of the big-ticket items? Lucas: Yes, that's what I was thinking if you're cool with it. Vic: Of course. Is she going to tell Robert? Lucas: I don't think so.: End of Conversation After that, it was a good day.

Andy's 16 Weeks and 5 Days... Today, the travel system arrived. When Andy saw it on the front porch of her house, with an envelope attached to it. She opened it, and read it.

Dear Andy, We thought you deserve this. We love you so much and will support you. We're here with you need it. We love you, and the baby. You deserve everything good for this baby. We love you.

After Andy read the letter, she just started to cry. She got in her car and drove to their apartment. When she got there, she knocked on the door, and they answered. When they answered she hugged them.

Conversation... Andy: Guys, you didn't need to do this. You didn't have to spend three hundred dollars on a travel system. Why did you do that? Vic: Andy, you deserve it. You are a single mother, and you need help. We just wanted to help. Lucas: Andy, you're my family. Which means the baby is family.: End of Conversation After that, Andy hugged them and left. She was so happy. After she left, Vic and Lucas decided what they are going to get her next.

Andy's 17 Weeks and 1 Day... Today is a shift. Lucas is at the station. When Andy walked in, she walked in with Vic and Maya. She was also in her new shirt. The new shirt, however, show her belly more, but she didn't care. She knew that she will have to tell them soon, at least before she's twenty weeks.

During the shift, Vic came up to her. Conversation... Vic: Hey, the team is getting suspicious. Andy: I take it, my belly gave it. Vic: Yep. Andy: Should I tell them? Vic: That's up to you, but Lucas is here today. If you want some backup. Andy: Thank you, guys. Can you ask Lucas to come to Maya's office? Vic: Yes, I can. (Andy goes to Maya's office, and Lucas comes too. Along, with Vic.) Maya: What's going on? Andy: I'm ready to tell the team, plus they are finally talking. Can I have some backup? Lucas: Sure. It's about time. Vic and Maya: Definitely. Andy: Okay. I guess it's time to do this. Lucas: Yep. We're here to support you. Andy: Thank you, guys. Maya: I'll call everyone up to the beanry. Andy: Okay. (They all go upstairs, and Andy stands behind the counter. So, Maya called everyone up, and everyone sits down at the table. Maya, Vic, and Lucas stand by Andy.) Andy: Guys, I have some news. I've been hiding it from you. Dean: What? Andy: I'm 17 weeks and 1 day pregnant with a baby boy, and it's Robert's. I've been hiding this for over two months. I just didn't know how to tell you guys. Travis: Why? Andy: I was afraid, you wouldn't support me. Also, you guys hate Robert. Travis: Of course, we will support you. You are family, and so is that baby. Dean: FIREHOUSE BABY!!!!!!!!!!! (Everyone laughs.) Andy: Lucas, you were right. They support me. Vic: Told you so. Travis: Wait, why do they know? Andy: Lucas, is now a dear friend. I had to tell my ambulance partner and my captain. Travis: Tell us everything.: End of Conversation After that, Andy laughs. She then tells them everything.

Andy's 17 Weeks and 5 Days... Today, Lucas decided to call Andy over because he wanted to ask her a question. When she arrived, they sat down and talked.

Conversation... Lucas: Andy, I have a question for you. Andy: What? Lucas: It's about Vic. Andy: What? I believe Vic does deserve you. Lucas: I have no one to ask, but would you mind I asked Vic to marry me? Andy: Go for it. She's so happy with you, and you deserve to be together. Lucas: Thank you.: End of Conversation
