He's Back

Chapter 3

It's been a couple of months since Robert dumped Andy, and she's been feeling like she's had the stomach flu, so she decided to go to her doctor. Her doctor is named Doctor Kennedy. When she went to the doctor, they had her pee in a cup, and the doctor came back in.

Conversation... Doctor Kennedy: Andy, you're pregnant. Andy: Really? Doctor Kennedy: Yes, you are. (Andy lays back and starts to cry.) Doctor Kennedy: I take it, this wasn't planned. Andy: Nope. Doctor Kennedy: I don't know how far along you are and you've been in a lot of fires, so I'm sending you for an ultrasound. Andy: Okay. Doctor Kenndy: The ultrasound tech will be in a couple of minutes. Andy: Okay. (After the doctor said that, Andy sat there for about five minutes, and then the ultrasound tech came in.) Luna: Hello. I'm Luna, you're ultrasound tech. Let's go look at this baby. Andy: Okay. (They walk to the ultrasound room, Andy lays down, and Luna puts the wand on Andy's stomach. Luna then looks around.) Luna: Andy, you appear to be ten and a half weeks. I'll call you eleven weeks. Here's the heartbeat. (When Andy hears the heartbeat, Andy just starts to cry.) Luna: Would you like some pictures? Andy: Yes. Did I hurt the baby? I was at a four-alarm fire three days ago. Luna: No. The baby is happy and healthy. It's growing and has the perfect heartbeat. Andy: Okay. Thank you. Luna: You're welcome. Here are you're pictures.: End of Conversation After that, Andy checks out, and heads over to the OB/GYN. Both of her doctors are in a group practice. She makes an appointment for two weeks from now. She then heads home.

When she gets home, she's just in shock. Since Robert came to Seattle, Maya was promoted to captain, and since Andy wasn't feeling well, Maya gave Andy the day off. Andy decided to go to the doctor. When Andy heard she was becoming a mom, she realized everything that she needs to do. She needs to find her own place, and so much more. So, she decided to take the day to process.

Andy's 11 Weeks and 1 Day... Today, Andy decided that since she's becoming a mom, she needs a place to live on her own. So, she set up an appointment with a realtor. When she went in to meet with the realtor, she remembered her and Robert talking about how they were going to buy a house together, but she went in.

When she came in, she was taken back to the office. In the office, they helped Andy find a loan, which is for first responders. She got a loan for about $400,000 and decides to buy a house. Three or four bedrooms with two or three bathrooms.

Andy's 11 Weeks and 5 Days... Over the past four days, Andy has been looking for a house, and she finally found one. A four-bedroom and three-bathroom townhouse. She still hasn't told the team that she's pregnant or buying a house.

When she signed the house owners contract, she got excited. She did the first thing for her baby. She got them a place to live. She knew that she has to tell the team that she's moving out, but she's waited to tell them about the baby. She's stuck with being on ambulance duty or desk duty.

Andy's 12 Weeks and 1 Day... Yesterday, there was a shift. Andy plans to tell Maya that she's moving out tomorrow because she's moving on and is starting a new chapter in her life. She plans to tell everyone by inviting them over to her new place.

Conversation... Andy: Guys, I would like to invite you to an old friend's house tomorrow afternoon. Maya: Okay. I'm in. Vic and Travis: We're in. Dean: I'm in. Andy: I'll let you guys know the address. Everyone: Okay.: End of Conversation After that, everyone went to sleep, but Andy couldn't sleep.

This afternoon, she had all the furniture delivered from her dad's storage locker. When her dad died, he left her all the furniture in his house. It has everything she will need for her own house one day. Including a new bed and mattress for her own place.

After she had all her furniture delivered, she texted Lucas and asked to meet for lunch, and he agreed. She got ready about 12:30 and headed to lunch. Since Robert and Andy got together, and he dumped Andy, they have become friends. When Andy arrived at lunch, she was glad to meet up with a friend. She felt like she could talk to Lucas. They met at a local restaurant.

Conversation... Lucas: Hey, Andy. How are you doing? Andy: Okay. Lucas: What's going on? Andy: A lot. Lucas: Like what? Andy: I'm pregnant. (Lucas's face went pale.) Lucas: Are you going to tell Robert? Andy: I don't know yet. Lucas: Okay. Andy: You're actually the first person I've told. Lucas: Wow. How far along are you? Andy: 12 weeks and 2 days. Lucas: Okay. Andy: I plan on contacting HR next shift. Lucas: Okay, good. Andy: The team keeps on telling me to move on, and make a change in life because I need to forget Robert. How do I do that now? Lucas: I don't know. Andy: I also bought a townhouse. Lucas: Congrats. I take it, the team doesn't know. Andy: Correct. I'm telling them tomorrow afternoon. Lucas, would you like to come over for dinner at the townhouse, tomorrow? Lucas: Sure. Andy: Thank you. Lucas: Let's talk later about Robert. Deal? Andy: Deal.: End of Conversation After that, they ate lunch and Andy headed back to Maya's apartment.

Andy's 12 Weeks and 2 Days... Last night, Andy started to pack everything she had at Maya's. She was able to fit everything into the three big suitcases she owned. She had to hide her suitcases, so she wouldn't tip off everyone. While she was packing, she realized how little she had at Maya's, but how much she had in her dad's storage locker. She couldn't believe she was able to fit everything she owned into those three suitcases.

This morning, she came out of her room, and she made coffee. After she had her coffee, she took her suitcases downstairs, put them in her car, and headed to the townhouse. When she arrived at the townhouse, put the key in the door, opened the door, and she still couldn't believe that it was her house.

For the next four hours, she went shopping and started to unpack. After a little bit, everyone texted they were awake. It took a couple of hours, but everyone made it to the townhouse.

Conversation... Andy: Everyone come in. (Everyone is confused, but come in.) Maya: Is something going on? Andy: Yes, come on in. (Everyone sits down.) Vic: Why are boxes everywhere with you're name on them? Andy: Because I'm starting a new chapter in my life. I'm moving on. I'm becoming a new me. Maya: Okay. Are you renting? Andy: Nope. I bought this place and signed the papers the day before last shift. Maya: Wow. (There's a knock at the door. Andy answers it, and it's Lucas.) Andy: Hello, Lucas. Come on in. (Andy hugs him, and he then sits down. Everyone is shocked that she called Ripley the Fire Chief by his first name. Vic was especially surprised. After he comes in, they all hang out and talk. Over time, everyone starts to leave. The last person is Lucas.) Andy: Let's meet up later this week to talk about the baby and Robert. Lucas: Okay. Just text me. Andy: Okay.: End of Conversation After that, Lucas left, and she was all alone.

After everyone was gone, Andy felt weird being all alone. Since this is her first time living alone. After a minute, she realized she wasn't alone. So she just said, "It's just me and you buddy." She then put her hand on her stomach. She then went to bed.
