Chapter 4

Andy's 12 Weeks and 3 Days... This morning, Andy has an appointment with HR and then Maya. She went to HR, she told them, and they required her to tell her captain, which she was planning on doing. When she got to the station, everyone was gone, and she was kind of relieved about that. It took about thirty minutes, but everyone came back.

Conversation... Andy: Hey, Maya. Can I talk to you? Maya: Sure. (They go into Maya's office.) Maya: What about? Andy: I'm not sure how to tell you, but I'm pregnant with Robert's baby. (Maya is shocked.) Andy: I'm 12 weeks and 3 days. Maya: How long have you known? Andy: About a week and a half. I notified HR this morning, and they are awaiting your paperwork. Maya: Okay. You're on desk duty. Andy: I know.: End of Conversation After that, Andy left and went onto desk duty. She was so glad to have told two people. She now has to figure out how to tell the team.

Andy's 12 Weeks 4 Days... Today, Andy has her appointment with her OB/GYN. The doctor's name is Michelle Baker. When she arrived at the doctor's office, she checked in and was taken to a room. She then got an exam and was then taken for an ultrasound. She had some blood work drawn, which will tell you so much info, including the gender.

Her ultrasound tech was Luna again. Luna checked to make sure the baby was growing, and it was. The heartbeat was perfect, and when she heard it, she started to cry again. Andy got pictures again. She then scheduled her next appointment for around sixteen weeks.

After her appointment, she headed home and started unpacking. She spent most of the day unpacking. In the evening, she made dinner, and then went to bed.

Andy's 13 Weeks and 1 Day... This morning when she woke up, she went to take a shower, and she noticed her belly had popped. That made her pregnancy even more real. Today, she decided to order her some bigger shirts for work, and go to the baby store. She left for the baby store around ten in the morning. When she got to the baby store, she got overwhelmed very quickly. She started to look around, and she realized how much she needs support, and how much everything is. So, she just wandered the store. By the end, she was so overwhelmed. So, she left. She ended up leaving the store around three in the evening.

When she got home, she got online and started looking at all the products. While she was looking, she started a baby registry and buying stuff. She bought her crib and started saving up for everything else. She was eaten by the internet hole for about three hours.

After she was saved from the internet hole, she went and made dinner. She then got ready for work tomorrow, and then she went to bed.

Andy's 13 Weeks and 2 Days... Today, Andy had a shift. It was long, but she loves being on shift. She's on the desk until her paperwork comes thru. However, she couldn't stop thinking about everything. Including everything, she will need for the baby and Robert. During the shift, Andy texted Lucas and asked him if he could come over to the townhouse so they could talk, and he agreed.

Andy's 13 Weeks and 3 Days... When Andy got home from shift, she texted Lucas to let him know she's home and told her that he will be over around noon. So, she took a nap. Around eleven she got up. She unpacked some boxes until Lucas arrived. He knocked, and she let him in. They sat down on the couch and started to talk.

Conversation... Lucas: How are you doing? Andy: Good. Had my first doctor's appointment last week, and everything is good. Lucas: That's good. Andy: Should I tell Robert about his child? Lucas: Andy, that's your choice, but I would tell him. Why are you asking? Andy: I love him so much, but he left me. What if he gets rid of his family? Lucas: There is no correct answer, but I do know he loves you so much. Andy: How? Lucas: He calls once a week to check on you, but I haven't told him anything. Andy: Thank you. I feel so alone. Lucas: You aren't alone. You have a whole team that will be there with you every single step if you tell them. Andy: I know. (They talk for a little while longer.) Andy: What's new with you? Lucas: I'm dating someone new for about six months. Andy: Oh really, who? Lucas: Someone in the department. She's less than a lieutenant. Andy: That doesn't narrow it down any. Lucas: I know. I'm not telling.: End of Conversation After that, they hang out most of the day. He left about dinner time.

Andy's 15 Weeks and 5 Days... This morning, Andy has her sixteen-week appointment. This morning, Andy decided to wear a shirt that shows off her growing bump, and a pair of leggings.

When Andy arrived at her appointment, they checked her belly, baby's heartbeat, and they did another ultrasound. She got another ultrasound because in her first whole trimester she was in fires every day, and even multiple times a day. Luna did her ultrasound again. The baby is growing healthy and is strong. She gets the results from her blood work, and it included gender.

The team still doesn't know about the baby. Yesterday, was a shift. After her appointment, she went over to Lucas's apartment to tell him the news, and possibly open the gender together. When she got there, she knocked, and he answered. When he saw her, he was confused, but he left her in. He's not expecting Vic to come over.

When he let her in, she came in and sat down. Conversation... Lucas: Hey, Andy. What's up? Andy: I had a doctor's appointment this morning, and I have the gender in an envelope in my purse. I wanted to open it with somebody. Lucas: Okay. (They open it, and read it.) Lucas: The letter says it's a boy!! Andy: Oh my goodness! A son. What am I going to do? Vic: Luke, I'm home! (Vic comes into the living room, and is surprised to see Andy.) Andy: Wait a minute, are you seeing Vic? Vic: We'll answer that in a minute. Andy, why are you here? Lucas: Andy, you need to tell them. Start with one. Andy: Fine. I'm 16 weeks pregnant, with a boy. We just found out the gender together. It's Robert's baby. (Vic sits down on the floor.) Vic: Wow. Does Maya know? Andy: Yes. Vic: How long have you known? Andy: About two months for the baby. You guys now. Are you two really together? Vic: Yes, for almost seven months. Lucas: If anyone finds out, we could both get fired. So, that's why no one knows. Andy: Okay. I'm going to go. Vic, only Maya, and Lucas knows. Don't tell anyone. Vic: Okay. Andy: Bye, y'all.: End of Conversation After that, Andy left, and she headed home. She was so surprised that Vic is dating the chief, but she let it go.
