Chapter 6

Andy's 18 Weeks and 2 Days... Today, Andy got a call from Lucas, asking her to come over. So, she came over, and Lucas talked to her.

Conversation... Lucas: Andy, I want to ask Vic to marry me today. I want you there with me. She's on her way over. Andy: Now? Lucas: Yes. Andy: Are you ready? Lucas: Yes, I am. (He shows Andy the ring.) Andy: It's beautiful. (Vic arrives, and isn't surprised to see Andy.) Vic: Hey, guys. What's up? Lucas: I have a question for you. Vic: Okay. What?

Lucas: Vic, you are the light in my life. I have so many reasons to love you. One is the way you support and the second is the way I love you. When I first meet you, you were a spark. Being that spark has made me love you more. This year, with you, has been the best year. I remember the night you were sick when we said I love you, I knew I wanted to marry you. So, Victoria Hughes will you marry me?

(Vic stares at him.) Vic: Of course I will. When can we get married? After the next shift? At the courthouse? (When Lucas heard that, he was shocked, but he loved her so much.) Vic: Andy, will you be a witness? Andy: Sure. You will need two witnesses. Lucas: Travis? Vic: Really? Lucas: Yes, you are aware he could have known long ago? Vic: No. Andy: Let's tell Travis at the townhouse. Vic: Okay. Lucas, I'll be back later or I'll call you over to Andy's. Lucas: Okay.

Andy and Vic head to the townhouse. When they get there, Vic calls and invites Travis over. Everyone in the station knows that Vic is seeing someone, but they have no clue who. When Travis arrives, he has no clue why he's there. When Travis comes thru the front door, she yells at him.

Vic: I'm getting married! Travis: What? Vic: Come in. Sit down. Travis: What's going on? Vic: I said, I'm getting married. Travis: To who? Vic: Lucas Ripley. Travis: What? The fire chief! You're dating the fire chief?! (Andy comes downstairs.) Andy: Hey, Travis. Travis: Hey. Did you know she was dating the fire chief? Andy: Yes, I did. I helped him propose. It was amazing. Travis: Wow. How long have you been together? Vic: Over a year. Travis: Andy, when did you find out? Andy: I've known since I was about 15 weeks, and I'm 18 weeks now. So, about three weeks. However, they're always so happy. Vic: Now, I get to plan a wedding, but I have to get married at the courthouse first. Travis: Well, you can still wear a dress, and he can still wear a suit. We can also throw a little party just the five of us, counting the baby of course. (Andy smiles.) Vic: I still can't believe he proposed. Andy: He actually asked for my permission last week. Vic: Really? Andy: Yes. (Vic smiles.) Andy: What? Vic: He asked one of my closest friends. I have three. You guys and Maya. (They both smile.) Vic: Well, I should get home to my fiance. Travis: Wedding planning after shift? Vic: Sure. I'll talk to Lucas. Both: Okay. Vic: Remember, this is a secret. If this comes out, we'll both get fired. Travis: Got it! Vic: See you tomorrow.: End of Conversation After that, Vic left. Then Andy and Travis had dinner and talked.

Andy's 18 Weeks and 4 Days... This morning, everyone got off shift. The shift was long, so after everyone got off shift, they went home, and took a nap. After a couple of hours, they all headed to Andy's house. When they got there, Andy was unpacking. She's still unpacking her house.

When they got there, Vic had a huge smile on her face. Conversation... Andy: Hey, girl. Vic: Hey. I talked to Lucas and he agreed to let me plan what we're going to do. Which is a wedding ceremony at the courthouse, and a party for just the six of us. Andy: Six? Vic: Lucas's sister, Jennifer is coming. Travis: Okay.: End of Conversation After that, they start planning the wedding.

Andy's 19 Weeks and 3 Days... Today, they are taking a break from wedding planning. So, Vic and Lucas are coming over to hang out. When they come over Andy had a question for them.

Conversation... Andy: Guys, I have an appointment next week for an ultrasound, and heartbeat check. Will you join me? Lucas: Of course. Vic: Agreed. Andy: I have never brought anyone to my prenatal appointments, so this is exciting. Vic: I'll be there for every appointment, and we can possibly drag Maya, too. Andy: Okay. Thank you.: End of Conversation After that, they hang out all day.

Andy's 20 Weeks and 2 Days... Today, Andy has her twenty-week appointment. When Andy went in for her twenty-week appointment, she was happy. She was glad she had Lucas and Vic by her side.

Her appointment started with an ultrasound. Luna was her tech. They started with his heartbeat, and when they all heard it, there were smiles all around. During her ultrasound, the baby moved, and Luna pointed that out. When Luna pointed that out, she had no clue that was her baby moving in there. Vic and Lucas were also surprised. Luna then continued with the anatomy scan, and they even confirmed it was a boy. Andy got a ton of pictures, Lucas and Vic also got pictures. After that, she was taken to the exam room. They heard his heartbeat again, checked Andy's fundal height, and then they left.

Andy's 21 Weeks and 1 Day... Today is Andy and Robert's first anniversary, and it's a shift day. Since Andy didn't make it to her shift, Lucas came to the townhouse.

Conversation... Lucas: Hey, Andy. How's it going? I got a call from Vic saying you didn't make it to you're shift. Are you okay? Andy: Today, would be my and Robert's one-year anniversary. Lucas: Really? Andy: Yes. The thing is I still love him. Lucas: I know. (Lucas hugs Andy.) Andy: I miss him so much. I want to forget him, but I can't. I can't forget him, because his son is kicking my ribs right now. Lucas: Then call him. Andy: What do I say to him? Lucas: The truth. Andy: What do you think he's going to say? Lucas: I don't know. But I know that he still loves you. Andy: He left me. Lucas: I know. Why don't you talk to the team? Andy: Because the whole team hates him. I bring him up, and they say I'm better off without him. However, you and Vic are the only ones who listen. Maya doesn't even listen. Lucas: If you ever want to talk I'm here. Andy: Thank you, Lucas. You've been by my side this whole pregnancy, and I'm so grateful. Plus, thankful. Lucas: You're welcome. Have you eaten today? Andy: No. Lucas: Are you hungry? Andy: Yes. (Lucas gets in the kitchen and makes her something to eat.) Andy: Thank you.: End of Conversation After that, Lucas stayed with Andy for a bit, and he then leaves.
