He's Back

Chapter 2

After Robert left, life went on. They talked every day, for hours, even on shift. After a month, Andy decided to plan a trip and surprise Robert. She took six days off and she has a year's worth of time off. After she took time off, she booked a plane ticket and got ready to go to Montana. She packed her suitcase and got on the plane.

When she landed in Montana, she got an uber and headed to Robert's house. When she got there, she knocked on Robert's door, and he answered. When he saw her there, he was shocked.

Conversation... Andy: Surprise! Robert: What are you doing here? Andy: I missed you. Robert: Me too. (They kiss and then go inside. They then go sit on the couch.) Robert: Why didn't you tell me you were coming? Andy: I think you would have told me not to come. Robert: Definitely not. I want to see you every single second of every day. Andy: Me too. Robert: I want you to know right now that I'm not going to be captain in Seattle. Andy: Okay. (Over the next five days, they just hung out the whole time. They went on several dates. On the day, Andy leaves, Robert takes her to the airport.) Andy: I don't want to go home. Robert: I know. How about we meet again next month? Andy: Okay. How about this time I drive? Robert: Okay. See you then.: End of Conversation After that, they kiss goodbye. She then goes inside and flies home.

When she got home, she grabbed her car, called Robert, and headed back to Maya's. The thing is Andy didn't tell the team where she was going, and why she was going. She was gone from the time they got home from shift. They know she's safe, but not where she went.

When Andy walked thru the front door of Maya's and her apartment, the whole team was there, waiting for her. When she saw the team, she hanged up her phone and knew that there was about to be some talking.

Conversation... Travis: Andy, you're alive. Andy: Why wouldn't I be? Travis: You just left. Andy: Can't I take a trip? Vic: Sure, but we've never seen you take one. Maya: Wait, a minute. You're smiling more, on the phone all day, and now a spontaneous trip. Is it a guy? (Andy blushes.) Andy: Yes, it is. Vic: Is it the one from Montana? Andy: Yes, it is. Vic: Is it serious? Andy: I want it to be. Travis: Tell us everything.: End of Conversation After that, they talk for over an hour, about everything. Including how kind and sweet he is. After a couple of hours, Andy goes to bed.

Over the past five months, Andy and Robert have grown very close. A month in, Lucas found out about their relationship, and he was in full support of their relationship. They see one another every month. Before their next visit, Andy got a call from Robert.

Conversation... Robert: Hey, Andy. I need to tell you something. Andy: What? Robert: I love you so much. Andy: I love you too. What's going on? Robert: I don't think we're going to work out. I love you so much. Andy, I can't live in Seattle, and I don't want you to move here, because that's you're family. I love you so much. Goodbye, Andy.: End of Conversation After that, Andy hung up the phone, sat down on the ground, and started to cry.

Andy loved Robert so much, and she didn't understand his reasoning. So, she just laid down on the ground and cried for hours. When the team got home from shift and found Andy on the floor crying, they knew something bad happened. Usually, Andy would be gone by now on her way to Robert's, but she's here.

When the team saw her on the floor, Vic grabbed liquor, and they all sat beside her. Conversation... Vic: What happened? Andy: He told me he loved me and then he dumped me, because he didn't want me to move to Montana, and he refuses to move back to Seattle. Because of his job and he has bad memories here. Maya: I'm so sorry. Drinks? Andy: No, I'm good.: End of Conversation After that, Andy went back to bed for all the days she had off. When Robert dumped her, the team began to hate him. Lucas had no clue and he was stumped on why Robert dumped her.

A Couple of Weeks later, a letter came in the mail, and it said:

Dear Andy,

I'm so sorry. I know you don't understand my reasoning for dumping you. However, I want you to know that I love you so much. I hope you can understand my reason. I want you to know that dumping you was the hardest thing I've ever done. I won't come back to Seattle because, on Pine Street, I lost my wife. Her name was Claire. That's why I refuse to come to Seattle. I love you so much. I'm so sorry.

On the day the letter arrived, there were at shift, and Robert sent the letter to the station. When the letter arrived and Andy read it, she started to cry and just sat down on the floor. When the team saw her crying and holding a page, they went to her side and were very confused. After a minute, she showed Maya the letter.
