Chapter 9

Chapter 9: Worrying

The next shift TK can't stop worrying about his mother. Sylvie tries to make him less worried but he still worries a lot. On a call TK seems so distracted that Brett starts to worry about him too. Once they get back to the firehouse Brett recommends that TK ask the chief if he could have the rest of the shift off. He dose and Chief Boden says yes and TK gets ready and heads home.

At home TK takes a shower and then lays down in bed. After laying in bed for a few hours he gets up and decides that he should eat something. Later he hears Carlos come home and TK tries to talk to Carlos about it to see if he can make him worry less. They do and TK dose start to worry less so Carlos makes dinner and they eat and then go to bed and cuddle until Carlos falls asleep. TK tosses and turns for a while but he still can't sleep. He tries for a few more hours and then he gets up and go's down stairs to sit on the couch and think.

The next morning Carlos finds TK sleeping the couch. He wakes him up and asks him why he isn't in bed. TK tells him and Carlos starts to get worried about TK's health. Carlos decides to stay home for the day but TK tells him that he is fine and to go to work. Then once Carlos leaves TK tries to go back to bed. A few hours later TK gets a call from his dad saying the his mom has now gotten worse and had to be put on a ventilator. He hangs up and is now so worried that he starts packing up his stuff to go to New York and he calls the chief to ask for the next week and 2 days off. After that TK hears a knock at the door. He opens it to see Brett standing there with a plate of freshly baked cookies. TK invites her in and she tells him that she made them for him to calm him down then he tells about how his mom had gotten worse and how he was leaving for New York that night. Sylvie tells him he should wait a few more days but TK ignores her and tells her that she should leave.

Once Brett dose, TK starts to prepare more stuff and then starts getting ready to leave for the airport. Before he dose Carlos comes home but that doesn't stop TK from going. TK gets into his car to drive away and Carlos tries to stop him but it was no use TK was to determined to go New York. Before Carlos knows it TK is gone.
