Epilogue

Alpha Robert, Jordan's dad, showed up on our borders while Lucia was patrolling. Well, I don't want to know what they're doing in their bedroom now...

We heard from Lunsolae that Duanna had found her second chance mate, a Lunsolae warrior named Morris, who mated with her but rejected her afterwards. He also kicked out of the territory when he found out she got pregnant by him, and since then she moved away to live in neutral land between Aurantiaco and Hyacintho.

In January, I did a pregnancy test at Jordan's suggestion, since he was, well, suspicious.

It was positive.

I went to Samantha's clinic to confirm it, and she said my hCG levels were very high. Jordan and I decided to wait until my first ultrasound to then tell my parents and in-laws.

A month later, Samantha confirmed quadruplets! So that was when I decided to break the news to my parents and in-laws (Jordan's parents).

"Lex, there are four buns in there, should I take them out?"
"Yes mom, they're all for you, dad, Lucia, and Robert."
"Me? Why?"
"Think about it for a minute." I say, winking at Jordan. He winks back.
"Where were the buns?" Mom decides to ask.
"In the oven!" *cue Jordan trying not to laugh*
My mom freezes for a second. No words required!
*GASP*
Every single wolf in the room gives me a weird look. Everyone is just sitting there, completely confused.
Jordan walks over and picks up the buns. "These were in the oven."
"You are- but why are there four?" Mom questions, finally getting it.
"You can ask Jordan that, hehehe!"

Several months later...

hey lex-emma wants me to tell u guys
ur going to be an aunt
tell jordan good luck with uncle duties

I shrieked and sat up straight.
Jordan snickered. "Aunts always turn into hyenas..."

For real?!?!?!

she's four months, so one month left.
ANNDD there's another surprise...

"Good luck with uncle duties! It's not just Raven and Charlotte now!" Jordan's face visibly lengthened. "AND we are going to Nikorsrim today for the convention." Jordan groaned.

We had breakfast and began preparing to drive to Nikorsrim.
"Lex! Let me bring the luggage down!" Jordan yelled.
"Nah, I can do it. Leave me be!"
"It's not good for our pups!"

Jordan rushed up, snatched our large suitcase from me, and zoomed back to the car.

I grumbled something under my breath before descending down the stairs. The drive would take nearly two hours. Felicity and Levi accompanied us, including Isabelle, Theo, Raven, and Charlize.

When we got there, refreshments and snacks were laid out in the auditorium, and everybody received their rooms and schedule.

"Snacks?" Ems hands me and Jordan a container with four muffins.
"Oh, thanks for the muffins."
"Flavor?" I ask Ems.
"You'll see."

I pick one up and take a bite... Blueberries?

"Emma is having a boy!?" Jordan and I yell at the same time.Ems and Emma laugh. "Spot on!"

Nikorsrim's deltas, Bruce and Carrie Lao, walk by with some papers.

"Hi, I'm Delta Bruce, and this is my mate, Delta Carrie. Here are the papers- one has the rooms, the other has the schedule. Also, I do have some things to discuss with one of your pack members- Felicity Zhu because Carrie and I well- we can't have children, so Felicity is our only heir, so we need to let her know about that."
"Sure."

"Maybe during the introduction, we can go into the conference room with everyone?"
"That works."

Belle, Eddy's sister and Beta of Nikorsrim, came up to me next.

"Luna, a rogue wolf came by asking to see you urgently. She didn't say her name, and she requests for you urgently- however, her mate's there too, you might know him."

Calling Jordan over, we head to where the Nikorsrim patroller saw them.

"Alexine, how much you've grown! Though, I can't wait to beat Jordan up for rejecting you- oh, interesting! So you're mated!" she exclaims, noting my baby bump.
"Aunt Marina! Uncle Darren!"
"We came from Hex Moon. The alpha, Tian Yi-ru, took over Seth's previous prisoners. But we escaped."
"So, what did you need to tell me?"
Darren spoke. "Marina must tell you Part 2. Beware, though, we must speak in private. It contains warnings of the future, in that war, and controversial things that spies would glower over."

We led them inside our room, locked the door, and motioned for her to begin.
Marina took a deep breath, her eyes clouding over.

"Alexine and Jordan, remember that Ling Ling will always be there to help you- IF you practice the earth equivalent of 40 hours. Besides that, for 40 weeks in some future year you will have to constantly withstand attacks by the enemy." Her tone turns deathly serious at the end. 

"Their coming for us." Marina whispers to Darren. He urges her to speak.

All of the sudden, we hear shouts outside. We hear Alexander's (Brett's brother) voice in the intercom. "Rogue attack, guests and pack members please make way to the basement. Deltas please lock the doors and make sure everyone is accounted for."

Marina looks me in the eye, commanding my attention in the brevity of the situation.

"I will now proceed with the adventure part of this part."

Heavy steps were heard tramping up the first floor stairs.

How this important message was going to be conveyed to me in time, both Jordan and I had no idea.
