Ten minutes ago the Colossal Titan destroyed the defenses atop the wall and kicked a gaping hole in the gate. Thanks to prior defensive measures, no one was killed by debris and a net was quickly dropped to prevent Titans from entering. In addition, numerous cannons and soldiers were stationed behind moats and caltrops, but even with all the preparations there's no way that'd hold forever.

Warning bells signaling evacuation echoed throughout the city. Evacuation turned to anarchy, massive crowds scrambled to get out of Trosts only exit to the safety of the inner walls. Soldiers were forced to crowd control measures to keep the masses from trampling each other and causing unnecessary casualties.
Later at the center castle, which would serve as HQ, soldiers geared up to defend the city from the upcoming titan onslaught, and thanks to their recent graduation the 104th Cadets would be accompanying them.
Cadets supplied their gear and got assigned orders and their squads by Captain Woermann.

"You will all split into squadrons of six! Just as you've been trained to do! As graduates you will be under the command of the Garrison to maintain supply lines, hold the fort for regroup and redeployment, evacuation, and combat!" The last part terrified a great number and triggered murmurs of discontent from the crowd of recruits.
"Quiet!" He shouted, snapping everything back into pin drop silence. "The defenses of the inner walls have already been breached!"
