It was Monday morning and the first day of senior year at Eastview Secondary School. Everyone was jittery and excited because this time next year they would be in university. Harry Styles got out of the car and said goodbye to his mother before running inside to find his group of friends but he didn't get far before his mother called him.
"Don't forget your cookies!" Anne yelled.
He ran back and collected the small tub of cookies, "Thanks mom. I almost forgot them. Love you!"
"Love you too! Have a good first day!" Then she drove off to her own job. Harry went inside and it didn't take long for him to find all of his friends huddled in one small corner.
"Harry!" Yelled Zayn, "How are you?" He ran closer to them so he wouldn't have to shout for the whole hallway to hear like his friend already had.
He gave Zayn, Nathan (Zayn's boyfriend), and Liam a basic teenage boy high five. "I'm doing good. How was your summer?" Harry asked like they hadn't been together almost every day during their break.
"It was fine," Liam said, "Slept in, which was nice." They played along pretending like it was new information.
Zayn rolled his eyes, "This dummy made us go on a roadtrip the last few days of summer. We were driving all night last night. Now I'm tired." Nathan smiled a big cheesy smile.
"Yeah that's why you're tired." His boyfriend teased.
Zayn lightly pushed him in a playful way, "Shut up."
"Anyway, Harry, are those cookies for us?" Nathan was already reaching out to grab one of the delicious, fresh cookies but Harry swatted his hand away.
"No, unless you're in my homeroom." Harry smirked. This year for homeroom and math he had Mr. Owens, Nathan's dad. Every year he would tell embarrassing stories about his son which Harry couldn't wait to hear.
Nathan rolled his eyes, "I can't believe you have my dad as your teacher. Twice too! And, Zayn has him for math for his second trimester." Before they could say much more to each other the bell rang and they all went into their different classes.
Louis Tomlinson was running late to school because his friend, Niall, couldn't wait till lunch for food. "We are late on our first day of senior year! I can't believe this. I can't believe I gave in." he kept checking the clock over and over. Not only was it senior year but it was their first day at a brand new school.
"I'm sorry mate but I have to eat or I'll die. Lunch is like hours away." Niall said, taking another bite of his delicious breakfast sandwich. "It won't ever happen again. I will eat breakfast every morning from now on."
Louis ignored him, keeping his eyes on the road. They arrived at the school 5 minutes late but on the first day that was like an hour. "Hello Mrs. Marshall, sorry we are late."
Mrs. Marshall was a younger woman and had flower print glasses. Everyone always made fun of her fashion because it was kind of out there. Today she wore a silk cheetah print shirt, black pants, and black chelsea boots. More casual than usual. "That's ok. I understand the struggle and since today is the first day of school I won't give you a tardy slip. Get going to class."
Both of them went running out the door without saying goodbye or thank you. Louis' homeroom was Mr. Owens, room 280. Niall had Miss. Anderson who was just across the hall. Luckily for Louis his whole class was socializing and being loud so it was like he was never late. Niall wasn't so lucky; His class was silently reading.
Louis found an empty chair and sat down next to a kid with a bright green backpack. And for some reason he had a rush of feeling like this year was going to be the best one of his life.
