Harry brought cookies in on Friday instead. He tried to hold it off for as long as he possibly could, but he hated how everyone was staring at him. Maybe these stupid cookies would prove that he was mentally fine. Harry counted multiple times making sure he had exactly 29 cookies. One for each of his classmates, the teacher, and himself. Honestly, he kind of wanted to know who was stealing his cookies every week, maybe if they wanted to be friends, Harry would make an extra one for them.
Louis wasn't doing as great on his end. Practice was hard and left less time for himself. He missed Harry a little bit, even if he was difficult, Louis still liked him as a person. Also, without Harry he was doing horrible art. All of his lines looked like waves and none of Louis' ideas were translating to the paper. "Louis!" He heard his mother call.
Louis ran down the stairs and into the kitchen. "What's up mom?"
"I was wondering if you could help me babysit the girls after school? I am working on a really big project at work." Jay continues, "actually it's a banquet for The University of South Wales where you want to go to."
Louis' eyes went big. Ever since he started playing football The University of South Wales had been his dream university. People would try and tell him about different ones so he could have a plan B, but he always ignored him. This was the only university that felt right to him. And, Louis would be absolutely crushed if he didn't get in. He didn't have to worry about that though because he was definitely going to get in. "That's so amazing! Can I come?"
"The event doesn't happen until April and you will know if you're accepted by then. But you can come!" Louis could barely contain his excitement and he was ready to start counting down the days even though it was months away. "Can you babysit the girls? After practice?"
"Yeah I can. Thank you mom!" Jay smiled and then took a phone call. He went back upstairs and finished getting dressed for the day. Louis made himself two blueberry waffles and walked out the door.
Louis put his 2013 Subaru Impreza in drive to go get Niall. Hopefully he had actually eaten breakfast today because Louis didn't grab him any. He met Niall in Year 7 when he moved to Doncaster from Ireland, and they had been inseparable ever since. When the two boys found out that they were going to be separated for senior year they made a slides presentation about why that would be a horrible idea. To their surprise, it really worked, and here they were.
Niall came rushing out of his red front door with his backpack half-falling off and both of his black converse untied. He shut the door behind him. "Tommo, do you happen to have anything for me to eat?"
"Really Niall? I know your fridge is full. I was just there a couple of days ago." Louis scolded him.
The boy with blonde hair sighed while lifting his shoes up to tie them, "you know it was one of those hectic mornings. I woke up late and stuff."
"Fine. Have these waffles. I'm not very hungry anyway." Niall looked like he was about to cry in thankfulness. That boy and his food was the most romantic story ever told, better than The Notebook maybe.
"Do you have any syrup?"
Louis pinched the bridge of his nose while leaving one hand to guide the car. "No, I don't have random syrup laying around." Niall shrugged his shoulders and shoved the waffles in his mouth.
When Louis got to homeroom he was surprised to see Harry standing at the front of the classroom with the familiar cookie tub. He wondered when it would come back again so he could steal one for Niall as well. "Harry has the cookies back!" The classroom grunted in annoyance as usual and Louis hated that because he knew damn well that everyone else in the school would die for cookies once a week. "Line up class."
