"I've been waiting to do that forever." Louis said with his full chest, feeling every word that came out of his mouth.
Harry nodded bashfully, "me too." He stared at the ground wondering if he had made a mistake. Of course he really liked Louis but what was the probability of them ending up together? Harry didn't want to end up with another broken heart.
The rest of the picnic was filled with silence because neither one of them wanted to be the first one to speak up. Louis wondered what this meant to their relationship. Friends with benefits maybe? Boyfriends? It all seemed new and exciting to him. Louis was glad that it was with Harry too because he felt so comfortable around him.
When the bell rang Louis didn't want it to be over. He wished that he could sit on the soccer field next to Harry everyday, all day. "Do you want to meet up after school?" Louis asked, quickly packing up their picnic.
"I can't." Harry answered with a frown because the truth was that he could, but he didn't know his feelings yet. "I'm sorry, maybe another day."
The smaller boy nodded sadly, "alright. Talk to you later." Harry walked off of the football field and straight into science with Miss. Taylor. He couldn't pay attention the entire time because his lips were tingling with electricity. Harry didn't know how something could feel so wrong and so right at the same time.
Part of Harry wanted to tell Louis about all of his problems and the other part wanted to keep it a secret from everyone. He could handle it by himself. He didn't need to get anyone else involved. But, maybe it wasn't about needing, it was about wanting.
After school Louis was set to drop Niall off back home. "I kissed Harry." He blurted out.
"You did what now?" Niall said, almost spitting out the piece of chocolate bar he had in his mouth.
"I kissed Harry. And, I liked it." Louis blushed and turned his head out the window.
"Why would you do that?" Niall said, still clearly shocked. "Are you proper in love with him?"
Louis focused on the road. He didn't know about love, but he definitely knew that Harry made him feel like no one else ever had. "I don't know but I really like him."
"Aren't you worried about what people will think about you?"
"No! People shouldn't think anything about me. If I date Harry it will be because we make each other happy. No one should care." Louis frowned and sighed, "why do you even care? Shouldn't you be happy for me?"
"I am happy for you mate." Niall took another bite of his chocolate bar, "I'm just worried about you, that's all." Louis sighed again and didn't talk to Niall for the rest of the ride. The blue eyed boy really hoped that Harry wasn't regretting his decision because he really wanted to be with him.
When they arrived at Niall's house, he didn't get out of the car, he waited for a moment. "Are you going to go or what?" Louis said. Even though Niall was his best friend, he was still really mad at him for believing the rumors spread about Harry because they were the farthest from the truth. Once Harry let you in he was sweet, kind, and very passionate about the things he loved.
"I'm sorry. I was being an ass." Niall smiled apologetically. "I'm really happy that you kissed him! I hope it works out."
Louis smiled back because that was the Niall he knew and loved. "Thank you. Now, before you go inside I wanted to talk about our annual Halloween party. Are we still doing it this year?"
"Well, duh! I've been hyping it up to all the guys at lunch. They are really excited. So am I." Niall pulled out another bar and started eating it. Louis was always amazed by how much the kid could eat even though he should be used to it by now.
"Ok cool. See you later, Niall."
"Bye!" He shouted before running off into his house. Now, Louis had to figure out how to make the best Halloween party ever, and that was going to be hard considering he only had 2 weeks. It was also a good thing that Halloween was on a Saturday this year or it was never going to work.
"Maybe Harry could help with the decorations." Louis thought out loud to himself. It made him smile just thinking about spending more time with Harry, but at the same time Louis wanted to make sure he gave him space. So, maybe it wasn't the best idea but he was still going to invite him. Plus, it was an excuse to text the boy.
It had been driving Louis crazy not being able to talk to Harry all day. Or even see him for that matter, except for english, that was nice. He wanted to know what was going through his head, did he also want to be in a relationship? But, Louis knew that he most likely wasn't going to know for a long time because it always took Harry a while to open up.
When Louis got home he went straight up to his room claiming he had homework, but instead flopped down on his bed with his phone in hand. He opened Harry's contact and started typing.
Louis: Hey, I have a question
Haz: What's up?
Louis: I was wondering if you were doing anything Halloween weekend. I'm having a party and I wanted to invite you.
Haz: Are you sure? I mean that's not really my scene. It's usually for like, i don't know, cool people
Louis: You're the coolest person I know
Once Harry received that text he could feel his cheeks heating up, and everything felt like it was falling perfectly into place. Maybe this was what Miss. Tomlinson was talking about when she constantly tells them to get out of their comfort zone. Maybe this was a time he should.
Haz: Alright I'll come
Louis: Yay!!
Haz: Can some of my friends come too?
Louis: Of course. Your friends are my friends. <3
