(I am 99% sure homecoming doesn't exist in the UK but just roll with it besties)

The lunch never happened again even though Louis wanted it to. Actually, Louis was starting to like Harry more and more every day. But, the green eyed boy never gave him a sign. It was all so confusing because Louis had never really like liked someone. Sure, he had had plenty of crushes in his life, but Louis knew that it was just physical attraction. But this was something deeper and more meaningful so Louis didn't want to screw it up.

On top of all of that, Lottie still hadn't told their mother about the pregnancy and 2 weeks had already passed by. Louis felt like he was going to die if he had to keep the secret any longer.

Louis: Are you going to tell mom today?

Lottie: No

Louis: Why not?? I'm dying for her to find out

Lottie: I want her to find out too, it's just not the right time.

Louis: Whatever

He rolled out of his bed and threw on an outfit. Then, packed his football bag like he did every morning. Niall needed to come to school early for some reason with him so Louis wouldn't have to leave the school to go back and get him. Jay had already left for the morning to drop off Phoebe and Daisy then go to work, so the house was empty.

Louis grazed his fingers over a few of the apples before picking one for both him and Niall. He ran out the door, shutting and locking it behind him. The drive wasn't that far and it seemed to be a pretty calm morning at the Horan household, or as calm as it could be. Niall came out of his own door 2 minutes later running to the car like his house was on fire.

"I've had a horrible, horrible morning." Niall pouted and crossed his arms, not even putting on a seatbelt, "give me food."

Louis scoffed, "what's the magic word?"

"Give me the fucking food." Niall said, holding out his hands.

"Jeez Niall, you're a bit aggressive today." Louis took his backpack out of the back of the car and got the apple out. "You should be glad I love you."

Niall half chuckled and groaned which was something no one else could mimic unless you felt it in your gut. "Yeah, yeah whatever." They made it to the school and they ran into the building because today it was particularly cold and cloudy, even for England.

As soon as Louis laid eyes on Harry a permanent smile grew on his face. It wasn't like he was trying to smile like a creep every time he saw the boy but he couldn't help it. Niall elbowed him in the ribs which pulled him out of his trance. "Hey what was that for?"

"You look like an idiot." Niall whispered back, "do you like Harry?"

"It's none of your business." Louis said through his teeth as they approached Harry, "now go away." Niall raised his hands up and left the two alone. In full honesty, Louis wasn't ready to tell people about this. At least not until he decided how to ask the boy out on a date.

When Niall left Harry smiled back, "hey Lou. How was practice last night?" Usually he came to practices but last night he was too busy, and Louis was sad about that but he dealt with it.

"It was good. It would be better if my good luck charm was there." He chuckled.

"Oh come on, I am not your good luck charm. You are like one of the best players. And, you did that without me."

"Yeah, but when you're there I'm even better." Louis saw as a slight blush came on to Harry's cheeks and maybe that was his sign. "I have a question."

The taller boy lifted an eyebrow while reading an email. "One second Lou I have to- OH MY GOD YOU ARE NOMINATED FOR HOMECOMING KING!!" Harry shouted. Louis couldn't believe it, people really put his name down on the paper? Why would they do that?

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Look, read it." Harry shoved his phone into Louis' hands and he began to look over the email. He scrolled down until he found the nominees. For kings there was: Christopher 'Chris' Armstrong, Shawn Jimenez, Dakota Clyne, Louis Tomlinson, and Brandon Hobbs. And for queens there was: Emma Barbet, Colette Rew, Gracelyn Keller, Rory Elijah-Matthews, and Lily James.

"That's crazy. I'm really going to have to go to homecoming." Louis wasn't planning on going, but now he had to, and he had to tell his mother about it. Also, on top of all of that, Louis was going to have to find a date and the dance was already this weekend. "I really didn't want to go. Now I have to find a date and everything."

Harry's smile turned into a slight frown, maybe Louis should ask him to go with him. "Yeah. Uhm, anyway, it's getting pretty late. If we are going to go to the library, let's do it now." He nodded and they started walking away. He really wanted to ask Harry to the dance, but what if he said no? Then Louis would've ruined everything and he would have no more Harry. So, he decided to just go with Niall because that would be better than any girl.

*******

The rest of the week went along great, Harry and his friends decided to go to homecoming as a group. Friday night they all went to a thrift store nearby to get some cool suits. Harry was never a big fan of dances, and he knew that homecoming wasn't a big dance at every school, but unfortunately it was at his. They got in the car and Harry quickly texted Louis.

Haz: Hey, sorry I couldn't come to the game. I'll make it up to you I swear.

Louis: It's alright. I'll see you tomorrow at the dance right?

Harry's heart fluttered a little bit, those damn butterflies. For some reason he had been waiting for Louis to ask him to the dance, and maybe it was a little naive since he was the most popular guy in school but Harry still held out hope that Louis would ask him to dance.

Haz: Yeah, I'll see you there. Talk to you later

Louis: Bye

How do you guys think the dance is going to go?

Will Louis ask Harry to dance, or will it be the other way around? Or will they even dance together at all?
