Louis set his drawings on the table and Harry stared at them for a very long time. His eyes almost looked to be filled with passion and understanding. "What are these supposed to be?"

"I don't know, what do you think they are?" Louis moved a chair over to the other side of the table instead of right next to him.

Harry shook his head, "I can't tell you what I think it is. Everyone's perception of art is different." He picked up another picture and lifted it up to the small light.

"I don't even know what it's a picture of." Louis confessed which immediately got the long haired boy's attention.

"Then why did you draw it?"

Louis hesitated because why did he draw it? "Excitement, maybe."

Harry sighed, "I don't even know why I am here. What do you need me to teach you?"

The smaller boy's face turned into a frown. He had expected a lot of things but not immediate defeat, "I'm really that bad at art?"

"No, I just don't know what to do. I've never taught anyone before." His voice sounded genuine and vulnerable. "Do you need me to just sit here with you and be like a mentor?"

Louis shook his head yes, practice made perfect, and Harry as a mentor was all he needed, "Yeah that's all I need."

"Ok then. That will start Monday, find out what you want to make a portfolio about, Louis. I have to go now." Harry quickly repacked his bag and ran out of the library doors without saying goodbye or discussing anything about football.

Louis slowly packed his bag, "Ok then." He whispered to himself. After knowing Harry for just a few short days, Louis had made the observation that he was very odd. Happy one moment and the next his doors were closed, not letting anyone inside. He wouldn't give up on Harry though, it was his goal now for them to be best friends.

He waved goodbye to Miss. Kale and Katie before leaving to his homeroom where Louis realized he would have to see Harry again. He saw a couple making out on the lockers, one of which he knew was Nathan, Mr. Owens' son who was also on the football team. Louis didn't know who the other kid was, nor did it matter. He put his backpack away and grabbed his things for first and second period.

Harry sat in his usual seat for homeroom which he remembered was next to Louis and he rolled his eyes deeply. He opened up his sketchbook and for the fifty millionth time tried to draw a football. And, again, it came out all weird looking. Harry had never had this much trouble with an art assignment and what was he supposed to do when it was going to last the whole year?

Louis looked over at Harry's sketchbook. He knew he probably shouldn't have and that it was kind of nosy but he just looked so mad. It was a football and it looked nothing like a football. Maybe that was why Harry needed help with it. "The size is too big, try making it smaller." The bell rings interrupting everyone's conversations, "See you in English." Louis said before leaving the classroom.

Math was good, but boring as always. Harry drew a sunflower because he was in a good mood after finally getting his football drawing down. Maybe it wouldn't be such a horrible thing to have him around. Then, it was time for art next, which Harry didn't start dreading until recently.

Harry found out that Louis was Lottie's sister after he came in to grab something from her in the middle of class and it left him confused. If Louis had Lottie why did he need him? She was the art teacher after all.

Louis walked into the classroom to see his sister because he had a doctor's appointment and needed the keys to the car. Before he walked in though he saw Harry sitting in the spot right next to Niall, and he made a mental note to ask his best friend about him.

Louis walked in and got the keys trying not to cause too much attention on himself but that didn't work out very well. "Drive safe."

"Will do." He walked out the door and into the parking lot. Just before Louis drove off there were 2 pings on his phone, the first was a text from Harry.

Harry: You're Mrs. Tomlinson's brother?

Louis: yeah. You didn't know that already?

Harry: No

Louis: Ok

That was the end of their conversation. The next ping was an email from his school. It read:

Dear Mr. Tomlinson,

We are so happy to announce that you have made it onto the varsity football team. We are so lucky to have you join us! More info about the season will be released soon.

Your teacher,

Mr. Owens

Louis almost jumped out of his seat with happiness, everything was going perfectly on his side. He had art, friends, family, and football. What more could he possibly ask for?

Louis was back for English class and everyone was standing against the wall, "As you can see we are going to be switching seats. There will be two people per table." Katie smiled at her piece of paper, "After this we won't be switching for the rest of the year unless there is a serious emergency."

Everyone groaned because all of the teachers had been doing that this year. Katie wrapped herself in her grey cardigan nervously because it made her nervous to upset people, even if they were kids. "I'm sorry you guys. Uh," Katie started to feel uncertain about her plan but she knew that Kale would kill her if she didn't go through with it. She was always saying 'You are brave' or 'you are stronger than this.' And, Katie listened because it was her best friend after all. "In the back left corner, we have"

Harry prayed that Louis and him wouldn't be sat next to each other but his gut told him they would, "Louis and Harry." Of course.
