the nerd and the cheerleader

Well hello there, readers of my journal.

My name is Joshua, I'm 17 years of age and I am, what you might call, a nerd. you know, geek, dweeb, general smart-arse.

I am currently in the joyous world of high school after moving from my lovely home in London to this slightly less lovely place in San Francisco. We moved because of my dad's work and the fact he was going to be made redundant at his old branch of the company he works at. Which is, you know, fair enough but I don't like it here. Because here I am not the mainstream teenager that I was back home. here I am seen as nothing more than weird because I actually know how to read... well maybe I'm pushing it but that's the impression I get from the so called 'jocks' and the teasing they give me when I answer a question correctly. And the girls. God the girls. Wow. They are just so insane. Totally different from London girls. Thing is, I'll never get a wow girl because I am a nerd and I will never be seen as anything other than that nerd.
