Vicki's disappearance had become a lot more serious. She still hadn't come back so basically everyone that knew her were being interviewed. That's why Caden found himself sitting down in the Sheriff's office. He barely knew Vicki so he didn't know why he had to be here.
"Did Vicki say anything about where she was going?" The Sheriff asked him.
He shook his head with an honest look in his eyes. "I haven't talked to her. I never really did."
"Didn't she go to your house often?"
"To see Jeremy, yeah, but when she was there we didn't talk. She stayed in his room. I really only saw her when she was coming and going."
"You're friends with Matt, right?"
Caden shifted uncomfortably. "I mean... yeah..."
"Has he said anything about where she might have gone?"
He furrowed his eyebrows. "No, he's just as in the dark as the rest of us. If he knew where she was he would say something." If there was one thing to know about Matt it was that he loved his sister and never wanted anything to happen to her.
The Sheriff nodded and wrote his answers down. "And what about Jeremy? What did she say to him?"
"That she was leaving town and not to look for her. She didn't give any hint to where she was going."
The Sheriff sighed and looked up from her sketchpad. "So you believe Vicki really has left town?"
Caden nodded. It didn't sound out of the ordinary. "Yeah, I mean, where else could she be?"

Caden waited outside the building for Elena to be done with her questioning. "Hey, Cade." Stefan walked over to him with a smile. Caden could tell it was fake though.
"Hey, Stefan. Crazy morning, huh?" Caden questioned. "Have you already finished your interview?"
"Yeah, I was just waiting for Elena. Wanted to make sure she was okay." Stefan nodded.
"She should be out soon." Caden sighed. "Did you end up finding Vicki the other night at the Halloween party? I mean, did she say anything about leaving?"
And once again, Stefan found himself having to lie. "No, I never found her. I wish I did, maybe things would have turned out differently." He looked down to the ground, remembering the nights events.
"You did everything you could. Vicki has always been complicated and... maybe she couldn't change unless she left. You know, fresh start and everything."
Stefan nodded his head in guilt. "Maybe she's in a better place." He mumbled.
Cade smiled. "We can only hope. I just feel bad for Matt... she meant everything to him and... he's lost so much lately."
