"Scum ball, scum bucket." Caden lifted his head as he heard Jenna mumbling to herself. "Uh, who are you talking to?" He questioned just as Elena came into the kitchen. He dropped his head and looked at the table, feeling a sudden surge of guilt from seeing her.
"Him." Jenna said as if it were obvious, nodding her head towards the television. Caden looked at the television to see the news reporter, Logan Fell reporting about the mountain lion responsible for all the deaths being killed. "The news guy?" Elena asked.
"Also known as Logan Scum Fell. Did your mum ever tell you why I moved away from Mystic Falls?" Jenna questioned with a heated glare in her eyes. Elena laughed and looked between her and Logan. "No way. You and him? He's cute."
Caden snickered as Jenna looked at her niece offended. "He is not cute. There is nothing cute about him." Jenna said. Caden went back to focusing on his cereal as Elena came and sat down next to him. "What are you doing with that?" Jenna asked after she turned off the television.
Elena had some of the parent's stuff in front of her and was cleaning one of the rings. "I went yesterday and got it from the safe deposit box. Mum had told Mrs Lockwood that she would loan it to the Founders Council for their heritage display."
"Is that grandma Beth's wedding ring?" Jenna asked, picking up the small ring and looking it over. "Originally it was great, great, great Mary's wedding ring." Elena said.
"How much do you think this stuff is worth?" Jeremy asked as he came in and picked up one of the items. "You know, on like eBay?" Caden ducked down as Elena reached over him and grabbed the item from Jeremy's hand. "You're not going to find out."
"That stuff is mum and dads, you can't just give it away. Come on, Cade, you have to agree with me." Jeremy said. Caden just shrugged his shoulders. "It's a loan, we're going to get it back eventually." Jeremy didn't look pleased with that answer.
The doorbell rang and Elena put down the item she was cleaning to get up and answer it. Caden looked over just in time to see her pulling Stefan inside and bringing him into a kiss. The image made Caden snap his head back towards the table and sigh. He couldn't be jealous, Stefan was only his friend, he definitely did not have feelings for him or find him attractive.
"You okay?" Jenna asked, coming and putting a hand on his shoulder. He shoved a spoonful of cereal in his mouth and smiled through his conflicted feelings. "Super."

Caden was laying in bed with his headphones in. His phone had been going off with text messages from Matt but he ignored them. It was just another thing to add to his guilt. He had kissed Matt and now he was pushing him away once again. He could be a real idiot sometimes all because he had to prove a point.
